Cozy ‘Cub House’ at the Lake

Our 20’ Kodiak Cub RV is the perfect landing spot for those wanting to get away, but not break the bank while doing it! We’re outside the hustle and bustle, but only a 10 minute drive to the nearest grocery store. Better yet, hop on one of our cruiser bikes and venture half a mile down the road to the Big Lake Grocery (the local’s convenience store)! Overlook Golf Course, Little Mountain trails, the Big Lake Bar and Grill and Centennial Trail are also just minutes away. Our place is equipped for both long or short stays to make your holiday one to remember.

Just what we needed.

Everything was great - clean, comfortable, cute. It had everything we needed for our stay near the North Cascades National Park! Communication was easy and timely. I would absolutely stay here again!

Shannon was an exceptional host. She did all she could to make us comfortable, and the RV was very clean with a quiet community. However the queen bed had about a 4 inch foam layer on top of a thin mattress which did not give much support as we sank in the middle causing it to be extremely difficult to get out of the bed. Upon communicating this to the host, she assured us that the mattress would be replaced. Hopefully nobody else has to endure that mattress!

Great spot for a rest

Shannon was amazing and responsive in every way. The fresh creamery coffee cream and fresh blueberry scones were lovely. I did very little but sleep there so cannot comment on true kitchen supplies. The bed wasnt good for anyone needing firm support. The cozy cub is located for quiet rest. Its a drive to any activity. But that suited menjust fine!

My 2 kiddos and I stayed for a handful of days while my son went to Fire Mountain Scout Camp each day. We were welcomed with tiny details that add a lot, e.g. fresh flowers, sprigs of lavender, and perfect snacks for pur stay. The beds were comfortable and the kids slept great. The wifi was strong enough that I was able to work during the day. The freezer and fridge had enough space for food for the 3 of us. Shannon provided beach towels, tubes, and a recommendation for a visit to Clear Lake during the hot days. She also gave us an insider tip to walk to the park down the road for tree swings, and stopping at the convenience store across the street for ice cream afterwards. Paul and Shannon were very responsive whenever we needed something, ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible. Definitely would stay again.

Both my husband and I were raised here in the beautiful Skagit Valley and feel truly blessed to still call it ‘home.’ We love to travel with our two young kids, but we also thoroughly enjoy the simplicity of being right here in our favorite spot together. House projects, prioritizing fitness and time in nature are our go-to’s. We absolutely LOVE hosting and putting extra thought and care into every part of your stay!

We’re situated in a safe, family friendly neighborhood that sees many walkers, bikers and dogs. While we aren’t on the water, we love the tranquility that comes with the views and overall feeling of ‘lake life.’

この宿泊施設の特徴

The cozy ‘Cub House’ features a queen size bed as well as a single over double bunk house. While our children adore the bunks, I would not personally recommend them for adults as they run on the extra firm side (full disclosure here). We’ve upgraded the queen bed with a mattress topper for added comfort, but keep in mind this is a camper (if you’re looking for the Westin mattress experience this might not be for you 😆). As far as length, my husband is 6’3” and sleeps on the outside of the bed as he feels a bit cramped otherwise. Freshly laundered linens are provided for all beds.

There is plenty of room in the cabinets to store clothes, food, etc. and the fridge/freezer is on the more spacious end as far as campers go. It features a fully stocked kitchen so you can cook and eat meals in, including a stove, microwave and toaster.

We have a pet peeve when it comes to staying in Airbnb’s that don’t fully disclose the coffee situation beforehand and it’s our personal mission to make that right. The Cub House coffee station (Keurig with pods, creamer and sugar) will be ready for you upon arrival and you can simply let us know if you need a refill on any of it.

The bathroom houses the toilet, vanity mirror and shower. Hand/face washing and teeth brushing can be done at the sink in the kitchen. Four sets of towels, soap and toilet paper are provided in your stay.

You’ll also have access to two adult, single speed cruiser bikes, which are a great way to enjoy the Big Lake Grocery where you can grab a pint, fill a growler or our personal fave - indulge in some greasy, but oh so delicious chicken strips. You can also check out the neighborhood park on your way back. Call it a night, turn on Netflix and cozy up in a fluffy blanket. Perfection.

We’re excited to share our favorite place with you and genuinely want you to get the most out of your time here. Please let us know a little bit about what brings you here so we can make it the best stay possible.
