Please note: This home sits at the top of a very long dirt driveway, and 4WD is required year-round to access the property safely.

We stayed for the weekend and I feel like it was the best choice! This cabin is in a great location, the views are amazing and you can get into Boone in about 15 minutes. The drive up is to be expected when staying on the side of a mountain. We brought our 4WD vehicle and it was not challenging and the roads are well maintained. Our family of 4 with small children enjoyed the layout of the home and the openness. We had everything we needed and one of the rooms has blackout curtains so that was also helpful. Overall I feel like this home has everything plus some nice extras (hot tub, game room). We will hopefully be booking for next year.

The location is fantastic for seclusion and views. The hot tub was out of order but management was aware and it wasn’t a “deal breaker”. Be aware, when you plan to stay your car should be 4WD/AWD with lager clearance due to the roads up, regardless of time of year. If you plan to use this property for App State events you should plan for 15 minutes to get into campus.

We came to visit our son for parents weekend at App. The house and view were fantastic. Getting there was interesting but we had a jeep and no worries. The only downside was the hot tub wasn’t working.

This house had wonderful views. Great deck to sit and just enjoy. Downstairs sitting area was good to enjoy evenings with our family. Would recommend to others who love Mountain View’s.

Great cabin vibes but scary drive

This cabin really makes you feel like you’re away from it all. The view was great and it was really quiet. We even saw a few baby deer. But beware of the drive up. Definitely recommend a 4WD or AWD even during the summer. A lot of the roads up are gravel and there was one sharp curve into a steep incline that I always held my breath because I was worried my Honda CRV would make it. And there are lots of twists & turns. I found it easier to visually follow the gps blue line while my husband drove rather than listen to it. It told us to turn once but it was too soon and we had to turn a round. We had a great time though relaxing with our kids.

Comfy cabin but scary drive

The cabin was very comfortable with a great view and it’s very peaceful. If you want to feel totally removed from the world this is a good spot. But be aware of the drive up. There are a couple of hills and turns that were pretty nerve wrecking. Definitely need a 4WD or AWD. Hopefully you will have someone with you who can navigate. We found it easier to just watch the GPS and follow the blue line rather than listen to the directions. There was one time where it said to turn but it told us too soon so we had to turn around which added to the stress because the gravel roads are tight.The hot tub didn’t work which was disappointing since that was one of the main reasons we booked it. I sent a message but don’t think anyone came to look at it while we were there.

Perfect getaway with a post card view!

The house was great and very roomy! There was a foot of snow on the ground but the roads were scraped however, only an awd vehicle could access the house because of the ice still on the roads. The view was better than the pictures show! The hot tub was a constant 105 and was fantastic! Would definitely stay here again!

COULS NOT MAKE IT TO THE HOUSE

We were not able to make it to the house A 4 wheel drive vehicle is NECESSARY to make it to this house. We even bought snow chains for our SUV and were unable to make it to the house. This should be a disclaimer before your rent this house. The company that manages the property was not very helpful to deal with and we are out of a lot of money due to this, this was my kids Christmas gift this year so that’s ruined
