We were caught by the photos and views of the house. Our actual experience went above and beyond the portrait of this home. The home itself is clean and comfortable. The kitchen and pantry basics well stocked. We were looking forward to spending Christmas together in a peaceful place. What we didn’t expect was Christmas decorations, a tree and lights, which were simple, warm and inviting. There was room on the tree for us to add small ornaments we each had brought to make the place festive. It was very thoughtful of the host to provide this for the season.Nancy was responsive to every request and offered excellent advice for shopping on the way. The directions given to the house made it easy to find even in the dark. The lights were turned on so that we could enter the house and feel welcomed right from the start. One of the first things we did was make tea and go out to the deck to see the stars. Without street lights it is an amazing display of stars. There was space enough for more than one activity going on without disturbing the others. It was great for watching movies. We were able to cook our meals, go for walks in the neighborhood and find our way around the area to local sights. It was wonderful to have such a fine place to return to after being out. And even with all that, Nancy was sincerely wanting to know how to make it better for the next people or for our next stay. It is definitely a place we would visit again, winter or any season.
