We are disappointed to read this review, especially given the issues that occurred during the stay. On the first night, we received complaints from neighbors on both sides of the property regarding loud music between approximately 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. This was during our clearly stated quiet hours, which begin at 10:00 p.m., and was also inconsistent with our house rules prohibiting parties or disruptive gatherings. We contacted the guest directly at the time to address the noise concern and avoid escalating the matter further. We chose not to immediately involve VRBO, hoping the issue could be resolved respectfully and directly. After checkout, our cleaning crew required approximately four hours to turn over the home due to the condition it was left in following what appeared to be a birthday celebration. Had there been any concerns during the stay, we would have been happy to address them promptly, but no such issues were communicated to us at the time. We take great pride in maintaining a clean, peaceful, and respectful home for our guests and our neighbors. We also expect guests to treat the property as someone’s home, not as a disposable rental space. Based on this stay, this guest may be better suited for a hotel setting rather than a private home in a residential neighborhood. Their behavior during the stay was inappropriate for a short-term rental, particularly one with clear quiet-hour rules, no-party rules, and neighbors on both sides. We have documentation of the noise complaints and the additional cleaning required, and we are prepared to provide that information to VRBO if needed. We wish this guest the best and hope their future accommodations are a better fit for their expectations and style of travel.

The pool pump does operate on a timer and may not have been running during the specific hours you were checking. Additionally, while I attempted to coordinate with my cleaning crew and a friend to assist, the timing did not align given the holiday weekend. As for the refund, I did speak with VRBO representatives and made efforts to resolve the matter fairly. If there was any miscommunication regarding the refund process, I sincerely apologize for any confusion caused.
