Great Room - Great Neighborhood - Kind Host

The room was very clean and comfortable. I wasn't sure about the check-in process as that wasn't communicated to me beforehand. Although when I contacted her, the host immediately answered her phone and made sure she was home to let us in and help us up to the room with our belongings. It was a great place to stay for the night with my son. The neighborhood is nice and very safe.

Zero communication and found out after the check-in time that we couldn’t stay here

We traveled to the area for a festival and never received check-in information from the host. When we drove past the house, the garage was overflowing with junk and it appeared someone was actively living here, but they told customer service they were out of the country. The host cancelled our stay after the check in time, once we were at the festival, so I had to spend time missing the show trying to find an alternative place to stay. There were none in the area, so we missed the headliners and had to drive all the way home. The property is advertised as a quiet one bedroom home, but it was clearly a much bigger house, so they likely never intended to offer the entire the home privately, or follow through with our booking. This really ruined an event we had been looking forward to for months.

Double booked, felt scammed

The owner of this property has it listed on more than just VRBO, and neglected to inform us that someone was already staying in the house when we arrived at the property. When we arrived at the property, we attempted to contact the owner through VRBO's messaging system to which the owner did not respond, only when called did the owner answer any communication attempts. After being informed that we had been lied to and cheated out of our money, we attempted again to contact the property owner through VRBO to attempt to get a refund, to no response. I should note that upon arrival to the property, no cars were seen parked in front of the house, and all the doors were locked up, indicating that no one was staying there. I will be attempting to get a refund very soon.
