Beautiful Deer Lake property

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house and property were well kept up. A second air conditioner is needed for a very hot upstairs with three bedrooms, sleeping nine. We stayed at the end of June so cannot imagine the heat of summer. Amenities were excellent except for the grill. With no drip pan, the grease went through a large hole very near the propane tank.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear the house and property were well kept and that you found the amenities to be excellent overall. We’re sorry the upstairs became uncomfortably hot during your stay. With three bedrooms upstairs and sleeping space for several guests, we understand how important proper cooling is, especially during warm late-June weather and the peak summer months. We’ll share your comments with the appropriate team so the air conditioning setup can be reviewed and improved where possible. We also appreciate you bringing the grill issue to our attention. A missing drip pan and grease draining near the propane tank is a concern that needs to be addressed promptly. We’ll have maintenance inspect the grill and make the necessary corrections to ensure it is safe and ready for future guests. Thank you again for staying with us and for noting both what you enjoyed and what needs attention. Your feedback helps us continue improving the guest experience.

Beautiful home with large yard

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here with multiple families/generations. The house is very nicely appointed and was pristine when we arrived. There isn’t an outdoor table at all but there are several comfy lounge chairs on the deck plus a very nice firepit area. The beach area is small - plenty of space for my almost 3 year old but maybe not enough if your group has more than 2 or 3 kids or has kids who enjoy building large sand castles. The lakeshore isn’t murky and is shallow with a sandy bottom. The paddleboard and 2 kayaks were enjoyable to take on the mostly quiet lake. My husband also appreciated the great fishing even just off the home’s dock.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful review of your stay at Blue Dog Lodge! We’re delighted to hear that your multi-generational family getaway was such a positive experience and that the home provided a comfortable, clean, and well-appointed setting for your time together. It’s wonderful to know that the property was pristine upon your arrival—our housekeeping and property care teams take great pride in making sure every guest feels immediately at home. We’re also glad you found the house nicely equipped for a group stay, with plenty of lounge seating on the deck and a great firepit area to gather around in the evenings. There’s something special about ending a Northern Michigan day with stories and laughter around a fire while overlooking the water. We appreciate your feedback about the outdoor table and beach size. While the sandy beach area is perfect for young children to safely splash and play, we understand that families with several kids or those who love building big sandcastles might want a little more space. We’ll be sure to pass along your suggestion about adding an outdoor dining table, as it would be a great addition for larger gatherings looking to enjoy meals outside. It’s great to hear that you and your family made the most of the water activities. The included paddleboard and kayaks are a guest favorite, and we love knowing you had fun exploring the mostly quiet lake. The shallow, sandy-bottom lakeshore is perfect for wading and safe swimming, and we’re thrilled it met your expectations. We’re also glad to hear your husband enjoyed some fishing right off the dock—it’s hard to beat a morning or evening casting a line from the comfort of your own vacation rental. Thank you again for choosing Northern Michigan Escapes and Blue Dog Lodge for your family getaway. We truly value your feedback and are so happy you had a wonderful stay. We hope to welcome you back for another lakeside escape filled with relaxation, fam

Spacious, beautiful, lakefront property

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family had a great time staying at the well appointed Blue Dog Lodge right on quiet Deer Lake recently for a long weekend. Check in was super convenient. We enjoyed the sun and view of Deer Lake from the deck. My disabled son loved to rock back and forth on the swing down at the beach. The house is large with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Large windows everywhere maximize the views of the lake. The house was clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. However, previous renters must have had younger children who left sticky smudges which attracted ants. Also, the main bedroom shower as well as the kitchen sink faucet, the hot and cold water hookups were reversed ; hot was cold and cold was hot. The property manager answered questions by text message very promptly. Boyne City has everything that might be needed during your stay. Deer Lake is quiet and relaxing and the surrounding area is beautiful as well. We can hardly wait to go back for another visit.

Everything with the place was great. If I had to complain about anything it would be that the sprinkler system went off every morning rain or shine and sprayed all over the cars in the driveway leaving water spots on them. But again the lodge itself was terrific.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very glad to hear everything with the place was great and that you found the lodge itself to be terrific. We do apologize for the sprinkler system spraying the vehicles in the driveway each morning and leaving water spots. We understand how frustrating that would be, especially when it happened rain or shine. We’ll share this with the appropriate team so the sprinkler schedule and direction can be reviewed and adjusted where possible. Thank you again for staying with us and for your kind words about the lodge. We truly appreciate your feedback and would be happy to welcome you back anytime.
