Bedrooms: 2 comfortable bedrooms, ideal for couples, small families, or close friends.
Living Area: An inviting open-concept living area with large windows that let in natural light and stunning water views. Queen sized pull out couch available in the living room.
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to whip up meals.
Outdoor Space: Enjoy 2 spacious decks, one with incredible water views, ideal for sipping morning coffee or unwinding in the evening with a glass of wine. Explore our wildlife viewing boardwalk which meanders into the swamp and allows you the opportunity to photograph or simply enjoy the serenity of your surroundings.
Private Pier: Direct access to a private pier that's over 100 feet long, perfect for sunbathing, fishing swimming at your own risk, or kayaking on the sound.

2 Kayaks and 1 floating mat available for guest use upon request.

Everything was clean. Check in was super simple. The host was very communicative and quickly fixed any issues. The property is in a quiet neighborhood, we barely saw anyone. Fishing and catching crabs off the dock was alot of fun.

Perfect Soundside get away!

Maggie’s property was the perfect spot as we traveled to visit family at Christmas. A beautiful location on the Albemarle sound with beautiful view and tranquility. The Christmas tree was a beautiful touch for our family as we were traveling with kids during holiday season. Would definetly stay again as it’s the perfect spot seeing eastern NC!

Swans

The house was very nice. Really Beautiful. We came to photograph the swans and the house was in a great location for our needs.

The location of the home in the neighborhood was very good. The home itself is a nice home, but the house was very nasty and disgusting. We were unable to stay. We left and came home early because it was so nasty. We contacted the host and informed her of the condition of the home and sent her pictures. She agreed that the home was not as clean as it should’ve been. She also offered to discount or refund us for understate nights and cleaning fee. It’s been five days now and I still have not heard anything back from her regarding a discount or refund, I’m hoping that she’ll follow through on that.

Rain and relaxation

We chose this property for a quick getaway to celebrate a birthday. It was a good choice. The house is well-appointed and very cozy. With one bathroom, it was perfect for the two of us although there were beds for four more. We appreciated the dog-friendliness of the house and the neighborhood. It rained most of the time we were there, but we were so comfortable that the rain only added to the charm and coziness. We had one evening when the clouds parted in the late afternoon, so we were treated to one of the famous, spectacular Albemarle Sound sunsets that we had heard so much about. We also spent a delightful day exploring the nearby town of Edenton. The only concerns we had were that the property is not ADA compliant (we are both in our 70s), and, although the outdoor decks are spacious and well furnished, nothing is covered, offering no shelter from rain or sun. Another thing that we found curious is that there is a spectacular grill on the deck, but no option for outdoor dining.

The Green Heron is a cozy, modern, and clean retreat where guests can enjoy a relaxing and beautiful stay. Our home offers a quiet place to unwind and reconnect with each other. Take in a beautiful sunset, explore local wildlife and historic sites, toss a line in the water and fish from our 100+ dock. Take the kayaks or paddle boat out on a calm day and enjoy some sunshine and laughter. Cuddle up with blankets on the dock and take in a show of stargazing. There are so many opportunities to create unforgettable memories here!
