I lived in this house for 19 years and have been remodeling and expanding it for the last 4 years. I redid a garage and storeroom into a small house my wife and moved into which allowed us to rent the big house. I was an importer of folk art from Indonesia mainly for 25 years. During that time I spent my free time kayaking and rafting, hiking and climbing, and a few years paragliding around the world. I am a beekeeper and have a few hives at the house in back.

It is a rural setting and there is only one house abutting my property, with county open space behind with the Santa Fe river, and across the front is airport buffer zone land. So it is quiet generally, but still close to town.

The house is very close to so many things. Equestrian develpment 1/4 mile away. The La Cienagilla petroglyphs (over a thousand) about a mile away. Ranchos de la Golondrinas about 3 miles and close to that Ojo Santa Fe Spa 3.7 miles away. The ski area and access to hiking is about one hour drive on a winding scenic road. Hiking close to the house or 20 minutes to national forests trails. Bike trails abound. Night skies are full of stars being far enough away from the city lights. Hot springs are relatively close, and so is Bandelier National Monument and the Pecos National Historic site.
