The furniture in the home is not cheap or poorly made — while style is subjective, the pieces were chosen with quality and comfort in mind. We understand that taste can vary, and we’re always reviewing based on guest preferences. Regarding the hot tub and sauna: it’s highly unusual for both to malfunction simultaneously. We arranged for someone to check, but before they arrived, you informed us that you had figured out how to operate both — which suggests they were in working order. We do not recommend walking barefoot in the backyard. We’ll work on making this guidance more visible for future guests. We did investigate your claims of uncleanliness (e.g., wine stains, hair in the shower, dirty dishes, dead bugs) immediately after your departure, but were unable to find evidence of those issues. Still, we’ve asked our cleaners to be even more thorough moving forward. We try to keep essentials like salt and pepper stocked, but occasionally, items may run out. For convenience, there’s an Albertsons just minutes away for any quick supply runs. Regarding the porch light — it is motion activated for safety reasons. The wind that night triggered it frequently. I apologize for the disruption. While I wasn’t able to respond to your message immediately at 1:30 AM, I did address the light the next day and turned it off for the rest of your stay. Lastly, I want to address the communication after the first night. You sent a message using strong language and demanded a refund and I was more than willing to accommodate a cancellation and refund. However, you changed your mind and chose to stay — and from that point onward, no further concerns were raised to me directly. We care about providing a great stay and take all reviews as an opportunity to grow. While we’re sorry this visit didn’t meet your expectations, we are committed to making the experience better for every guest going forward.
