We stayed for a weekend in September and we were blessed with perfect weather and perfect accommodations. This property is a little slice of paradise with everything that you need! The proximity to the water was amazing and there was plenty of parking (which we really didn't need for this visit but that isn't always the case with rental properties so that is a fantastic perk). I don't think I've ever encountered owners more accommodating than this family, it was a pleasure and a delight to work with them! Hoping to come back again in the future with friends and fmaily!

This is the fifth or sixth year that we rented “The Grape Life”. It is a wonderful home where our kids and grandkids can enjoy time on the water. Rick and Peg are great hosts. The home has everything you need. Can’t wait for next year.

Location is fantastic for a family get together. The house was clean and the amenities created a homelike atmosphere. Lots of activites available for adults and kids. Loved the easy access to the lake and all the fun it provided everyone. Wineries and a distillery within walking distance was a plus. We had a great time.

Family lakeside getaway

This is a wonderful house! Gorgeous view of Lake Keuka, with beautiful sunsets over the hills on the other side. So well appointed: dock with chairs, beach with kayaks, a grill, a fire pit, a porch with more chairs, kitchen and dining room with lake views, pots, pans and multiple coffee makers, multiple bedrooms with multiple beds with multiple chargers,... 13 of us were able to stay there very comfortably! The Grape family made us feel so welcome there by meeting us at the house and showing us every detail, and answering our every question quickly beforehand. Plus, the house is in a cozy, quiet neighborhood of lakeside homes, in a beautiful part of New York State with so many natural wonders to explore, and far enough away from the big cities to be truly relaxing. Enjoy, just come and enjoy!

Great experience!

We (a group of 10 older adults) stayed here during a kayaking trip. We loved the house, property, and area. Owners were very nice and helpful. The house had everything we needed, and much more. Dock, rear porch, outdoor seating, beach & fire pit were favorites. House was clean, well stocked, comfortable. Nice sitting area and large TV. This place is really amazing! Thank you for letting us stay here.

Family Vacation on Keuka

We had another great week at “It’s a Grape Life”. Rick and Peg have a beautiful place and are such great hosts. Our group of 12 had fun swimming and boating on Keuka Lake. We can’t wait for next year.

A Mini Resort

We so enjoyed our stay at this property that we were planning our next visit while still there! The amount of room in this clean, convenient, easily accessible home with welcoming décor is amazing. A perfect place for a large group/family. We enjoyed being able to eat and play games AT THE SAME TABLE, both indoors and outside, and also enjoyed the ample seating in the living room, and on the covered back porch just steps from the lake! Rain cancelled our firepit on the beach with s’mores that we deemed too messy for the gas fire pit on the porch. People kayaked or fished off the big, sturdy, beautiful deck every chance we had, and we had morning coffee and evening drinks out there sitting in the comfortable glider chairs. If it had been a bit warmer we would have been swimming and using the large floating mat! We saw bald eagles, hawks, many kinds of ducks and geese every day. The outside temps ranged from 50 - 80 deg. during our stay and we didn’t need to use the modern AC/heat units or even the gas fireplace, since simply opening or closing a few of the easy open windows controlled the indoor temperature perfectly. The location is perfect, halfway between Hammondsport and Penn Yan, less than 30 min. from Watkins Glen and Seneca Lake. We visited several wineries, distilleries, state parks and hiking areas, and the Windmill Craft & Farmers market, the area and views breathtaking. The only things different from “It’s A Grape Life” and a resort hotel are a chef and a maid!

Amazing getaway

We had a group of 11 friends. We had the most amazing time! The hosts were very gracious and provided an amazing experience. They were there at check in to walk us through the property. Even prior they were very informative of everything they provided and things we might need to bring. Great hosts and beautiful property!

Ten Days in October

The weather was blustery and rainy during our stay this year at It's a Grape Life, but the Grape's and their wonderful house made it pleasant. We fished off the dock (successfully!), and we kayaked on the calm mornings, and we made good use of the gas fire pit on the covered porch and the dining table for card games. We witnessed an eagle catch a fish! And we had extra time to watch the eagle because a hawk was nearby, and the two birds had a short standoff in a neighbor's tree. The hawk gave up, and after a few minutes, the eagle took off. Another great day at Keuka!

Girls wine trip.

It’s a Grape Life was a wonderful place to stay. My friends and I cooked dinner there, hung out on the dock, went swimming, sat on the back porch, and just enjoy the house in general. It is a wonderful place to stay! The owners, Rick and Peg, are absolutely wonderful.

Friends Weekend

This property was perfect for our group of 9. To start, there was plenty of parking for all of the vehicles with space to spare. The owners greated us upon arrival and explained how things worked which was very helpful. The property and house were beautiful. The gas fire pit was put to good use as the weather was cool and wet. We had plenty of space insde and out. The level property and proximity to the lake was also a bonus it allowed 1 of our guests with limited mobilty to enjoy a campfire and the lake. I personally enjoyed kayaking almost every morning so peaceful. Our entire group had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this property (just not the weekend I want to go)😊 Thank you Rick and Peg for sharing you house with us.i

40th Birthday Celebration

My wife and 8 of her closest friends stayed at the property for a weekend birthday celebration. First off - communication with the property owners was easy and thorough. Everything was arranged ahead of arrival. The owners met the girls at their arrival to show the property and even had a special gift for my wife’s birthday. The property was just as lovely as described, within walking distance of some of the places the girls wanted to go and although the weather didn’t totally cooperate everyone still had a great time. I would definitely recommended renting this property and the owners were incredible.

Girls’ Getaway

A group of nine ladies from three different states that attended grade school together. All of us are newly retired except for two women. This was our first time all together. The house was perfect in so many ways. We were able to walk to an amazing distillery with delicious cocktails and a gorgeous view. The dock was wonderful and the abundance of chairs was great! The owners were exceptional in every possible way‼️ We highly recommend Cruisin Keuka - Jim the owner picked us up at our dock and we did a 2 hour sunset cruise❤️ The pontoon boat was big and the seats were plush! Everyone raved about the cruise!!! There was so many things to do at the house that we didn’t get to do. Definitely would rent again!!! Highly recommend this rental!!!

Family Vacation

Another great week at It’s A Grape Life. We enjoyed spending a week on Keuka Lake with our kids and grandkids. This home is beautiful and has all amenities you need to have a great time. This is the fifth year we have rented this home and have had a great time each year.

Perfect Family Reunion House

My family and I stayed for a week at their beautiful lake house for a family reunion. This house was perfect for entertaining! Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were a couple of kinks during our stay but Rick and Peg responded immediately and were very proactive at getting the situation resolved. Thank you so much. I would definitely recommend this lake house to anyone with a large group. The house is great, the outside entertaining areas and dock are amazing and I think it’s one of the best views on the lake. I would definitely book again in the future.

Absolutely perfect!

Stay here, you won’t regret it. It’s absolutely perfect. We had an amazing time at this lovely lake house. The house is well appointed with everything you could possibly need. We loved the awesome red rocking swivel chairs at the end of the deck overlooking the lake. We enjoyed family, food, fun, fishing, and beautiful sunsets. Thank you Rick and Peg!

We LOVE Keuka more than any lake we have ever been to because of the crystal clear weed free water, the beautiful views, the multiple restaurants on the lake and 7 miles from the quaint village of Hammondsport. After renting at Keuka for over 20 years we finally took the plunge and purchased our slice of Keuka Paradise.

Our cottage is on the coveted East side in the cozy private community called Crystal beach. After renting various cottages for over 20 years which each had between 15 & 60 steps from parking to the lake. We are now located on a level lot with no steps from the parking lot to the beach unless you go through the house and have 2 steps on one side and 5 on the other.

With 5 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms and the ability to sleep 14 people it has plenty of room for one large family or even 2 or 3 smaller family's. We have rented 1 bathroom cottages and need I say 2 bathrooms are a MUST have. We have also rented places with only 2 parking spots and now we have more than ample parking. Also some cottages had room for us to sleep but not enough room for us to sit in a living area together. Our family room / dining room area can seat 14. We are a year round cottage with both a gas fireplace and individual room electric heat along with air conditioning in all 5 bedrooms.
