Nice place for convention center events
My dad, sister and I were in Houston for my daughter's robotics competition. It's a short walk to the metro station and just 2 stops to both the convention center and Astros games. If you need to take a rideshare, it's quick that way as well. Very convenient. The hosts were very responsive to our questions. Not anything that can be helped, but you can hear the train horn at all hours.In the neighborhood there are 3 must try places that we loved. Flor Y Miel has the best food we had while in Houston. Las Perras Cafe has a nice selection of coffees and teas. For dessert, go right around the corner for Popston for gourmet popsicles. There are more bars than restaurants there, but those are the ones we liked the best. We talked to each of the owners and they are all newer small businesses, which we love to support. It worked well for what we needed, an affordable place that we could get to and from the convention center since we were there for long days.
