This was a lovely place. It’s a 1-min walk to the top of Eagles Swoop (which is a legit Intermediate slope, so be prepared….you can also hike down a hundred yards or so to where it flattens out…and the skiing from the top of Big Acorn Lift to the house is easy/flat). Great communication with Deb. Great hot tub! Spacious loft, just manage the temperature with fireplace going (heat rises!).

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. 26 Shagbark was definitely as advertised! The location was great for access to the resort and tubing park. Beds were very comfy and the house was well stocked. The hosts were very communicative and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Great Ski Weekend

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday weekend skiing and staying in this wonderful house! The home was stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals, and the crockpot was a great touch. The beds were incredibly comfortable—just like sleeping at home. The location right on Eagle Swoop was a huge bonus, making it easy to swing by for a quick sandwich between runs. After a long day on the slopes, the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind. Deb was super helpful and quick to respond to any questions.This house truly exceeded our expectations—10/10, I highly recommend it! We can’t wait to come back!

Cozy Stay

We had a wonderful stay at this Wintergreen home. It was very cozy with comfortable beds, a warm stone covered fireplace, and plenty of movies to choose from on the TV as well as provided by the homeowner. We also enjoyed the hot tub. The location was great! You could walk to the slopes in 2 minutes! So convenient! The homeowner was quick to respond with any questions and super helpful! We would definitely choose to stay here again.

Thanksgiving family time

My husband and I met our son who goes to school in NC at this cabin to celebrate Thanksgiving together. The cabin was perfect and the views were amazing. I was able to cook us a Thanksgiving dinner while my Husband and son enjoyed the hot tub. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

Mountain Retreat with Hot Tub

We had a fantastic day at this property! The house is great and easily includes enough room for two couples with two kids, so the two of us had plenty of room. We really enjoyed the hot tub and mountain views. We were really close to one of the ski slopes, so staying here if you are a skier would be ideal. And it was just a short 10 minute walk to the local market to get supplies. The owner reached out to make sure we had everything we needed.

Anniversary weekend

We had such a relaxing weekend! The house was cozy and we had everything we needed and more!! We enjoyed the hot tub every day. We have voted that king sized bed, the most comfortable VRBO bed, ever! We cooked several meals at the house but also wnjoyed the restaurants at Wintergreen.

Probably better for skiing in winter

Property was ok nothing in particular stood out. There was no mountain view from anywhere on the deck. Flooring in the house, bathrooms, and general decor need updating. The kitchen utensils, fry pans, and pots, were old and of the type that seemed to be discarded by the owners. The property seemed more like a camp than a resort property. There was mold on the bathroom curtain that required us to wash the curtain before use. Otherwise the place seemed clean, but as a cabin the woods, susceptible to spiders and ants. The property was close to the Wintergreen Lodge, however the pools, the exclusive restaurant, and the fishing ponds are not available to the lessors of this property. This was a disappointment but in fairness we should have checked this out before hand. The property served our purpose and in general was adequate. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the price was reasonable. Coffee in the morning on the deck was peaceful. I suspect this would be very convenient and reasonable place for a ski trip. This is a nice area for adults but we found little to do for a the teenager and the child in our party. We were there over the memorial day holiday.

Beautiful Cozy and Clean

This is the second time renting here and both times have been Amazing. Special shout out to the host Deb who literally was a phone call away to immediately answer any questions! Such a cozy private warm vibe to this home for cooking and reading and quiet respite from the daily adventures! Super stocked kitchen and abundant towels/ linens. Incredibly CLEAN and wonderful views with great natural lighting from windows all along the back of the home. Easy day trips we enjoyed were hiking Crabtree Falls , biking along the Ty river, walking thru the blue ridge mile long train tunnel, and a trip to the impressive D Day Memorial. Thank you Deb!!!

Long weekend skiing

We had a great 4 night stay! The location and access to slopes can’t be beat. And communication with the host, Deb, was fabulous. We appreciated that the house was well stocked things like hand soap, detergent, etc. Would definitely stay again!

Nice get away from the DC area for a NYE trip. Wish there had been more snow and more trails open but this is a great location, easy access, wonderful sunsets! Will rent again in the future and enjoy the easy ski in/out access. Thank you!
