Good property, management could be better
Great property, even greater location. A really special nook around some larger properties, but still have the great views you want on Silver Lake.
I would say that while some of my issues at check-in were my fault, Ocracoke Realty could definitely be better. If I had read their communications more carefully, some of the issues might have been avoided.
Issue #1: The emails about the access code were very poorly written. I totally missed a couple of sentences about putting a # BEFORE the access code. The text they sent me gave the access code like this: #
123456
If they had texted it like this: #123456 I think it would have been noticed and would have saved a lot of consternation.
Issue #2: Bed linens. After the text about the linens NOT being included, I called and was able to add linens to my rental, at a cost. I authorized the charge and was told that the linens would be outside the rental when we arrived. They were not there.
Turns out that the linens were inside. But because of the key code fiasco, we had not yet gained entry into the rental.
Once I contacted a person from Ocracoke Realty, and we got inside the unit, the we confirmed that the linens had been left inside on the bed, but not installed onto the mattress.
However, when we tried to put the sheets on the bed, we discovered the wrong sized sheets had been delivered.
I requested that we be given the linens as a gesture of good customer service, but I believe that fell on deaf ears.
