There is a two bedroom apartment that is separated from the part of the house that is on offer on this site by double doors. When these doors are opened guests have access to both areas. Anne and Dennis found out about it from reading about the experience of a previous group and requested that we make it available to them. We were happy to do so. For prospective guests whose group size exceeds twelve or would like an additional two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, dining and living areas please do not hesitate to request this addition. We have been fortunate in assembling a very committed team at RayHope. I am personally very proud of the commitment to excellence displayed by every single member of the team (host, housekeeper, gardener, poolman, and taxi driver) in hosting our guests. You and your family were great guests and we thoroughly enjoyed doing what we could to make your stay in St Lucia the success that it was. Linda, the Rayhope team believes that your professed disappointment with RayHope house is a reflection of the fact that you took umbrage to our request for an explanation for how a bed and chair were broken during your stay. However, we regret that the dishwasher did not work for you and that there was some kind of blockage to one of the two sinks in the master bedroom. We have resolved both problems and would have done so during your stay if we had been informed in a timely fashion. With the exception of the above discrepancies, we delivered every service/convenience we promised. The house; its location relative to restaurants, beaches, stores etc; the size of pool; and all other aspects of the house are exactly as depicted. In this regard, the group that stayed at the house just two months before you noted “The home was everything we expected”. Your unsubstantiated assertion that “the house needs maintenance and is older than it looks” is inconsistent with the following. 1. The 10 reviewers that preceded you, repeatedly noted that the house and grounds are very well maintained. 2. Most exterior surfaces of the house were repainted in August 2019. 3. A roofer performed routine maintenance in Aug 2019 and certified that the roof was in pristine condition. 4. A fresh coat of paint was applied to the interior surfaces in the downstairs area 2 weeks before your stay. 5. A brand new stove was installed 2 weeks before your stay. 6. Most of the downstairs flooring was replaced or refurbished two weeks before your stay. 7. Every living space in the house has an AC unit and ceiling fan. Everyone of them was in prime working condition during your stay. 8. The age of the house not a mystery. This site clearly states that the house was custom built to our specifications and delivered to us in 2007. Per your request and as a courtesy to you, I arranged for Albert to provide transportation for your group of 12. Hiring Albert was not mandatory, but it was the most sensible alternative for a group of 11 adults and a teenager. You could have rented and driven the two large SUVs that would have been necessary to transport your group at a rental rate of US$140 per day per car. For $200/day, Albert drove you from the airport to the house and back to the airport ( each trip that would cost at least US180.00), was at your group’s beck and call 24/7, provided free advice on places to visit & eat, and took you all over the island.

Our philosophy is that RayHope House should feel like a home away from home for our guests. To achieve this we constructed and furnished the house to ensure comfort. As such all spaces have AC and/or fans; lots of space in bedrooms, hallways, sitting areas, and balconies; lots of clean linen, plush bedding, sofas, and chairs; and a properly equipped kitchen. At RayHope we believe that feeling at home means that our guest should have reliable access to the internet and should be able to use their electronic devices in much the same way they would at home. Consequently, we insisted on both 110 (US) and 220 (Caribbean, UK, ..) outlets and installed WIFI with two range extenders ensuring high quality WIFI in all rooms, balconies, and next to the pool. We appreciate that you had other alternatives and thank you for choosing RayHope. Your outstanding review will help us get the word out on the excellence of our location and the high quality accommodations available at RayHope House. I am very happy that I made the decision to make the additional two bedroom apartment (not featured in the listing) available to accommodate your group of 15. Since we had not done that before, it was a bit of an experiment that your comments suggest worked very well. Consequently, we plan to make the additional apartment available to groups ranging from 13 to 15 in the future. The RayHope team works really hard to ensure that our guest have error free stays at RayHope by testing all systems in the house prior to the arrival of every group and by immediately fixing any problems.
