The Bunkhouse at Lazy 4T Ranch is a beautifully appointed 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom guest house nestled on our working horse and cattle ranch in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. It's the kind of place that feels both elevated and completely at ease — rustic charm with the comfort of a boutique stay.

Step inside and you'll find a premium memory foam mattress dressed in luxury high-thread-count linens, spa-quality 100% Turkish Cotton towels, and Kangen alkaline water — because the details matter. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook a quiet dinner or just brew your morning coffee. The cozy living room comes with a flat-screen TV with streaming, a DVD player, and board games for a laid-back evening in. Washer and dryer are available for guest use.

Pet Policy
Dogs welcome on a case-by-case basis — must be disclosed at booking. $35/night per pet ($300 monthly cap). Dogs must remain leashed outdoors. Not permitted in the barn, pastures, or on furniture. Guests are responsible for any damages. All animals must be approved prior to arrival.
Please note: Emotional support animals are not classified as service animals under the ADA and do not override our pet policy.

Our Story

Lazy 4T Ranch is a real, working horse and cattle ranch in Elizabethtown, Kentucky — and it's the life we've always dreamed of building.
Michelle and Tracy Thompson have been building a life together for over 32 years, shaped by wide-open land, hard work, and a deep love for horses and cattle. Tracy is a fifth-generation cattleman, born and raised in West Texas, who has been riding and training horses his entire life. He competes in the National Reined Cow Horse Association and the American Ranch Horse Association, and has trained horses and students at every level for decades. His philosophy is simple: build the horse right, and the results will follow.

Michelle is the heart of the ranch — co-owner, manager, licensed realtor, mom, and creator. She handles the day-to-day operations, manages the guest accommodations, and brings the kind of warmth and attention to detail that makes every guest feel like family from the moment they arrive.

Then there's Tate — their 11-year-old son who has been in the saddle his entire life, already competing and winning buckles, and who loves nothing more than giving farm tours and introducing guests to his favorite horses.
In 2023, we brought our life to Kentucky — turning a piece of rolling bluegrass country into the kind of place we always envisioned. A working ranch where the old ways still matter, where horses are treated like family, and where the door is always open to people who share that same love for the land.

The name Lazy 4T comes from our family brand. The "4T" represents our family of four. The "Lazy" speaks to the unhurried pace of real ranch life. It's not about doing things fast — it's about doing them right.

Why We Chose This Place

When we found this piece of land outside Elizabethtown, we knew it was home before we ever signed the papers.

Rolling Kentucky hills, lush green pastures, and winding trails stretch out in every direction — the kind of landscape that makes you slow down and breathe differently the moment you step out of the car. The sound of birds at dawn, horses moving through the pasture, and the rustle of the trees in a warm Kentucky breeze — it's a world away from everything, and yet just minutes from town.

What we love most about this place is the quiet. Real quiet. The kind you can only find when you're surrounded by open land and good neighbors. The people out here are genuine — the kind who wave when they pass and show up when it matters. We've built real friendships here, and that sense of community is something we felt from the very first day.

We love watching the sun set behind the hills, seeing the stars come out over the pasture at night, and waking up to the sound of the ranch coming alive in the morning. There's nowhere else we'd rather be — and we mean that.
We chose this neighborhood because it felt like the life we always wanted to live. We hope it feels that way for you too.

A fifth-generation horseman as your host. Tracy Thompson has been training horses and working cattle since childhood. He competes in the National Reined Cow Horse Association and the American Ranch Horse Association. When he talks about horses, he's not reciting a script — he's sharing a lifetime.

Experiences you can't get anywhere else. Private trail rides through breathtaking wooded trails and open pastures. A hands-on Ranch Life Experience where you'll saddle up and work real cattle on horseback. Farm tours led by Tate, our 11-year-old ranch hand who knows every animal by name. These aren't tourist attractions — they're the real thing.
