Misrepresented as Luxury – Disappointing Stay
We booked this property based on its description as a luxury, 5-star vacation rental — but what we encountered was nowhere close. From the moment we arrived, we faced a series of issues that made our stay uncomfortable and frustrating.The unit was not clean upon arrival — we had to request a reclean and have ants removed. The furnishings were worn and outdated, beds were lumpy, and the sheets and towels were thin and low quality. The kitchen was missing basic tools (no tongs or pasta spoon), the cookware was scratched and mismatched, and there was no pantry space for food storage. Several closet doors didn’t shut properly because they were filled with clutter, and a bathroom door handle fell off during our stay — we had to fix it ourselves.There was no dedicated parking like neighboring units have. The garage was too small for a vehicle and instead held beach gear. The layout was also much tighter than the photos suggest — hallways and rooms felt cramped. Because the indoor living space was uncomfortable and poorly designed, we spent most of our time on the first-floor porch, which had old, uncomfortable furniture.We reached out to the management company and were told we could receive a refund only if we left immediately — which was not a reasonable solution given the time, effort, and cost of the trip.This property is significantly misrepresented and does not meet the standards of a luxury rental. I would not recommend it.
