Easy living and dog friendly, this low-rise raised beach house offers single level living on second row. Basic but comfortable accommodation is provided on a split floor plan with two bedrooms and a full bath on each side of the central common areas. The front screened porch is the heart and hub of the home boasting rocking chairs and the sound of the surf.

HOUSEKEEPING / LINENS: All short-term stays include departure clean service, bed and bath linens, and beds made upon arrival. Linens and housekeeping are additional costs for monthly stays.

BEACH / CREEK ACCESS: The beach is less than a two-minute walk with boardwalk access located right across the road. A small public boat launch is right around the corner on Sundial Drive, perfect for launching a Jon boat and kayaks to explore the beautiful tidal creek.

LENGTH OF STAY: Saturday to Saturday stays in summer. Partial-week stays may be considered for last-minute bookings. Monthly winter rental inquiries are welcome.

DOG FRIENDLY: This Dog Friendly home invites you to bring the whole family. Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach during daylight hours. Guests are responsible for all damage caused by their dog. Please see Pet Policy for more details. Guests bringing a dog must make it known at the time of booking and pay additional rent. Maximum 2 dogs.

LITCHFIELD BEACH: Walkable with a laidback vibe, this unique coastal community offers easy access to miles of pristine beach as well as to the tidal creek. A stroll-about will unfold scenic Lowcountry vistas, rekindle friendships from past stays, and provide access to a sample of local shops and restaurants. The greater Waccamaw Neck area additionally offers grocery stores, art galleries, prominent golf courses, historic landmarks, boat excursions, nationally renowned Brookgreen Gardens, and Huntington Beach State Park - a birder's paradise.

I appreciate that the property was managed by Litchfield Real Estate and not by a private owner. Staff was easily available if needed and responsive which has not always been the case in several of less than optimal vrbo rentals. The property is very close to beach access, located on a residential street.

The property was located near the beach as described, which was nice. Upon arrival, it was dirty inside, we found mold growing in the pots and pans. We notified management and they came right away to take them. We bleached and washed the rest of the kitchen items ourselves. The (6) of us spent the first hour or so cleaning the house, especially the kitchen. There were food crumbs everywhere, and the bathrooms were semi-clean. Kitchen items were either old, and some even broken. We had to go out and get cleaning supplies to clean the house. The outside shower, and hoses to rinse your feet off from the sand had holes in them spraying everywhere when we tried to use them. We found two of the beds had no fitted sheet, just the top sheet with a light comforter. We found the rest of the bed sheets and completed that as well. We expected to do our own preparations when we arrived, just not at that extreme.

Thank you so much for this feedback. We received no reports of these concerns from the previous guests and always recommend guests contact us immediately if anything is out of order. When we picked up the pots, no other concerns were provided when asked. While we work hard to have our homes rental ready and welcoming, please know we are always quick to act if anything needs attention. We wish only the best with future travels.

Litchfield Beach is easily among the prettiest beaches in South Carolina. Bounded by low lying sand dunes and the blue-green ocean, the beach is characteristically wide with soft white sand and spans 7 miles from end to end.

Summertime can get busy on Litchfield Beach, but families love rekindling friendships made from past stays as they book year after year in the same home within this small, beachside community.

Grocery and beach stores, popular dining venues, and local eclectic shops are conveniently nearby. While primarily residential, Litchfield Inn is located on the north end of this beach where the public can enjoy oceanfront dining and a dunes-side bar within easy and safe walking distance.

Huntington Beach State Park shares the same strand as South Litchfield Beach, a popular destination for families, photographers, and nature lovers. A 4-mile drive north along Ocean Highway 17 will bring you to the forested state park entrance where visitors will fall under the enchanting spell of the beauty and wildlife of the Lowcountry sand dunes and marshlands.

Also, 4 miles away is Brookgreen Gardens, another local treasure. Brookgreen displays world renowned sculpture amidst acres of lush gardens and majestic oaks and offers miles of walking paths through what once was a working rice plantation. It is also home to the only accredited zoo on the Carolina coast, where you will see rescued native animals in their natural habitats.

The Pawleys Island/Litchfield Beach area is known locally as the Waccamaw Neck. Pawleys Island, known for its “arrogantly shabby” character, encompasses Litchfield but has its own beach – and island – where it splits away from the south end of Litchfield Beach. The relaxing ebb and flow of the tide sets the pace of our Lowcountry coastal region of South Carolina where getting on Island Time comes naturally.

Outdoor activities are a great way to experience the unique beauty of our area. Locals and visitors alike enjoy surf fishing, deep sea fishing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, surfing, boating, bicycling, and beach combing – just to name a few. Nationally renowned golf courses abound as well as historic landmarks and plantation tours. Myrtle Beach, only 20 miles north, and Charleston, 75 miles south, make great day trips.
