Beautiful escape

We enjoyed our stay at Jodo, a quiet, remote retreat. If you are looking for nightlife, fancy resorts, fine dining, and social interactions (we were not), head to Providenciales. But here on the North island it is remote and natural. We enjoyed the total lunar eclipse and exploring North and Middle islands.

AMAZING!!!

Jodo Is paradise! Wow! We were looking for a quiet spot with healing waters. We found it and never wanted to leave! We stayed for 10 days and saw just 4 people walking or running on the beach. The waters here are the most beautiful I have ever seen. We saw turtles, manta rays, schools of fish from the shore. The sunsets were stunning and could be enjoyed from the water (my favorite), the bedroom balcony, the deck, or the cozy palapa on your beach. The house was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. Showers were hot with great water pressure. People on the island were very friendly. ATM did not work while we were there, so bring enough cash (dont really need much except for the ice cream shop and grocery stores if purchasing under 25.) Regine was absolutely amazing. She made us feel so comfortable and was very responsive if we had questions. Book this place now!

Paradise on earth

Wonderful experience if you are looking for seclusion and quiet. The property is way off the beaten path, which is great for total relaxation. The beach is gorgeous and pristine, the water color and temperature perfection. Gorgeous sunsets. The accommodation in the guest house for 2 people is great, nice open concept setup and balcony has a pretty view of the sea. My only suggestion to the owners would be to invest in a mattress and bedding/pillows that are worthy of such a 5 star resort, the mattress springs were a bit uncomfortable and the quality of pillows and bedding not matching the absolute loveliness of everything else. Regine, the property manager was very helpful with everything we needed. North Caicos was a wonderful, quiet alternative to Provo and we’ll definitely be back!

This is just one of those places...

This is just one of those places that is like hidden gem in a world overrun with false advertising. BUT NOT HERE...From the moment you land on North Caicos, to Regine who meets you at the doc, to the best kept secret in T&C with your own private beach! Did i mention i fished right off the beach in front of the property and caught some very nice size Jacks! Also if you dont know, the most amazing thing about T&C is EVERY beach is amazing - other places have a nice beach or two - NOT T&C...all of them are beautiful and then when you travel to North or Middle Caicos - its even better because you practically have the beach to yourself! Okay, back to the property!!! Its well appointed, classy digs, all the basic necessities for cooking, cleaning, etc. If you have any needs or questions just hit up Regine and she responds almost immediately! So YES we will be back and do yourself a favor DONT OVERTHINK THIS if its AVAILABLE!

Beautiful property on a beautiful island!

There was widespread flooding across the region the day we arrived, but what could have been a horrible start to our vacation was immediately converted to a lesson in hospitality and love. Regine, the property manager, had already arranged for us to stay the night at a different property since the route to ours was still flooded. By the next day, as we arrived at JODO, Regine and John the owner went above and beyond to make sure the excitement of the first day would not define our trip. The property was beautiful, and the beach was all ours for what seems like miles! In fact, every beautiful beach we explored seemed like it was there just for us. Mudjin Beach was our personal favorite. We highly recommend this island for anyone interested in unwinding, and HIGHLY recommend both Regine and John!!!

Wonderful week to ourselves

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at JODO. The property was just as advertised: very quiet with almost nobody else around. During the week we were there, a few people walked by on the beach but otherwise it felt like we were all alone on the island when we were there. Regine was wonderfully responsive when anything came up that we needed help with. The property itself is lovely. The beach to the east towards Three Mary's Kay is a lovely walk. We rented a kayak for the week that from Al at 83 tours that we took out several times when the wind allowed and enjoyed. We also went on a terrific fishing and snorkeling one day with Captain Dedrick from One Stop Sporting shop, which we would highly recommend. Overall, just a wonderful place to stay.

Late February stay

We enjoyed our first trip to TCI. Beautiful island. The location and privacy was really nice. I wish Jodo had had a pool. A few appliances went working - we had noticed mentions of the same items in earlier guest reviews and assumed that they would have been repaired prior to our stay, they had not been - the dishwasher would not latch and thus did not work and ice maker was broken (Regine had supplied us with bagged ice) and the refrigerator’s thermostat did not work properly - everything that was not placed in the crisper froze. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

One of the most relaxing vacations ever!

It’s a quiet paradise. Private and beautiful. We had a car and I’m glad because we needed to get out once in a while. Ha! We thoroughly enjoyed exploring North and middle Caicos. The beaches are gorgeous. We were a little disappointed in the snorkeling, but that’s not why we went. Regine is super responsive. We appreciate her!

A Big Slice Of Heaven!

JODO was absolutely beautiful, peaceful and everything we could have wanted. Extremely private beach with powdery white sand. The house is gorgeous! We walked along the beach in both directions daily over our week there and saw about 5 people total over the week! If you want to get away from it all go there! Thank you Regine for the great service and thank you John for allowing us to stay in your exceptional house, and you were right, It was worth it!!!

Not exactly as described

This house looks pretty but is poorly designed and not as described. We booked the guest house which is cute and mostly comfortable, but it is described as a two bedroom with air conditioning. It is a one bedroom and a loft bedroom, and only the one bedroom has air conditioning, the main living spaces and loft bedroom do not have any air conditioning. You can open windows but it does take a good part of the evening / into the night to cool off, and you would not want to cook anything inside and increase the heat level. We have a higher heat tolerance than most people but it would be nice to have AC to cool off the living spaces especially since it is advertised as such. The AC in the bedroom broke down while we were there and we were moved to the main house which we were at first happy about but soon realized the main house also only has AC in the bedrooms, not in the main spaces and the house is designed so that there are big sliding glass doors and no curtains or anything on the side of the house where the sun beats in all day long, with no windows on the other sides of the house, so no air flow whatsoever and no way to cool off the noise even in the evening, the air just does not come in at all. The bugs are very bad on that part of the island you can’t really be outside in the evening so you just sit inside in the heat and sweat until it’s time for bed. The house is pretty and has a great view. The beach is secluded and nice. Property managers are great.

Jodo was just as described

I did quite a bit of research prior to booking on North. I did not expect nightlife or an all inclusive trip. Jodo is a bit remote and yes some bumpy dirt roads. The home was well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, plates cups, coffee maker etc. We ordered a food list to be delivered ahead of arrival which worked out very well. First floor a/c and numerous fans kept us cool. Kitchen,living areas were spacious and comfortable. A car rental with good suspension is needed as most things to do require a 15 to 20 minute drive including some rough roads. Beach and lounge chairs out front were nice. A short walk left gives you perfect sand and some snorkeling. Sunsets were a must but have some bug spray for exposed skin. Relaxing and recharging is just a reservation away.

Epitome of Relaxation

My husband and I were extremely pleased with the accommodations. The Jodo guest house had everything we expected and much more for our week of “down time.” The private beach and ocean views were phenomenal to say the least. We spent hours everyday on the beach under the cabana, walking the beach and snorkeling. We saw a rare jogger on the beach twice during our entire week. We were sure to eat dinner inside when the “no see ums” were out. Our sunset photos from the balcony were gorgeous. One very important quality of this resort was Regine, the manager. She was always available and assisted with all aspects of this trip; getting the ferry, taxis, rental car, groceries, etc…. We gave this Guest house/Villa a five star rating as it truly deserves it. We will be back!!!

Prvate Retreat On N. Caicos

Amazing property on North Caicos! Our group of 3 ladies felt safe even though the property is very secluded. We adventured out to see both North and Middle Caicos, but spent most of our time sitting at the beach at the rental. You can walk to a beach from one side of the property which gave us a view of Parrot Cay. The property manager was very responsive to the requests. Be sure to bring all the seasonings and ingredients you need to cook, the house had only salt and pepper.

As advertised!

Staying at Jodo was everything we wanted. It was quiet and had everything we needed to cook and chill. We will definitely be booking a family gathering in the future. Other guests wrote about the no-seems so we brought plenty of spray. Unfortunately I wasn't prepared for how tenacious they were even on windy days. We brought our own paddle boards and were able to enjoy the water and walking to 3 Mary's along with venturing out to Middle Caicos during the day. Highly recommend this property!

If this Villa was a person, it would be a Movie Star!

Outstanding location, service, privacy and bang for your buck. Every compliment about this slice of heaven is true and anyone reading this review would be foolish not to rent JODO and enjoy. So, what do I have to contribute? Another point of view as a small business owner. One measure of integrity and service isn't just saying, "here you go." It is how someone resolves a problem. This is where the word outstanding is well used once again. The refrigerator was not cooling properly, and I alerted the often-mentioned Regine, who truly is a wonderful person. We had an immediate response and remedy. That's good service. It's easy when everything is going well, the true measure of great service is how an issue is handled. I am pleased beyond words, and If I was not, that would be reflected in this review. I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, John. He took his time to help me understand what would be beneficial to have a great vacation and told me about local points of interest. My wife and I will book this villa again, and I cannot wait! Do yourself a favor, you probably deserve it. Rent Jodo, have a great time, and have a cocktail for me!

Great Vacation

Just got back from an amazing vacation on North Caicos. This property was just as described and exactly what we were looking for. If you are looking for a peaceful secluded escape, then Jodo is the place! Regine, the property manager, was so helpful leading up to and during our stay. She was always available for questions and even met us at the ferry to take us to the property. We stayed in the guesthouse and found it well stocked with everything we would need. We spent every day relaxing by the beach and snorkeling an amazing little reef not far offshore! We did take one day to explore the rest of North and Middle Caicos, but found we were more than happy to get back to "our" beach. Fantastic Private Beach Vacation!!

My wife and I had a great vacation at Jodo!! The villa with private beach access was fantastic! The beach was clean and amazing. We watched the sunsets every night on the private beach. Regine was super helpful and was a great host. We were met at the ferry and given a private tour of the property by Regine when we arrived. You definitely need to rent a car during your stay to get access to the villa and other attractions on North and Middle Caicos. You pick up the car at the ferry when you arrive in North Caicos which makes it super easy. We were able to snorkel directly off of the beach at the villa. There is a very nice small reef to the left of the villa with some great snorkeling. Highly recommend this villa to anybody looking for a quiet and relaxing beach vacation. We look forward to returning.

Beautiful Oceanfront Setting

We spent an enjoyable and relaxing week in the Guesthouse of Jodo (located behind the main house). Our favorite aspect of Jodo is the exquisite location on the pristine beach of Sandy Point; we spent many hours under the large palapa, staring at the turquoise blue sea and watching the incredible sunsets. You can't see the ocean from the guesthouse (with the exception of the view from the loft bedroom and upper balcony), but why spend time inside when you can be right on the water? The shore is a nice combo of ledge rock and sand. The property and shoreline is very private. Do rent a car if you stay here as you'll want to explore North and Middle Caicos. Also be aware that due to its location there are sand fleas (no-see-ums) that are very bothersome if you are susceptible (use baby oil or No No-See-Um, made in Florida). They can come through the screens and so were in the house, too. We did not care for the main floor bedroom; it is air conditioned but did not smell great due to being closed up and, as can happen in any tropical climate, was prone to cockroaches. We also wished that the orientation of the house was facing the ocean and that there were windows on every wall to provide more cross ventilation. Despite these drawbacks, we loved our stay at Jodo and highly recommend it if you want the beauty and tranquility of the TCI.

An incredible beach house

This is an incredible stay on the ocean. Regine was very helpful both before and during our stay. The filtered water at the house makes provisioning and hydrating that much easier. The little reef out front was a fun surprise. This couldn’t have been a more relaxing vacation.
