Nice but needed a good cleaning

The house was in a great location and had everything we needed (except dish towels). We were extremely disappointed that the house was filthy when we arrived and we had to spend several hours cleaning, especially vacuuming as there were tumbleweeds of hair all over the floors and on the furniture. The quilts on all the beds were full of hair (we assume dog hair), so we slept with blankets we had brought with us.

We loved our house! The house is very private from others nearby. The neighborhood was also very quite and nice. With 3 small children, we used the private pool daily. It was very convenient! The short walk to the beach was very manageable. The new TV was a nice surprise! Bedrooms were a perfect size. We had grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping near by. We visited the Currituck lighthouse, Whalehead Club, and Timbuck II shopping area - all within a couple miles of our house. Something that was not mentioned on the website - there were beach chairs and umbrellas located at the house - again, a nice surprise!! We will definitely plan to stay at this house when we visit again!

We enjoyed our stay at Pelican Shores despite it being delayed due to Hurricane Florence. I would like to say that Village Realty you done an outstanding job keeping us informed on the evacuation and the reentry timeline concerning Corolla Beach. Overall we loved the place for its privacy and having the ability to step out and enjoy the pool. If I had to recommend anything would be that TV’s at the minimum were in the bedrooms with queen beds.

Pelican Shores is a lovely home. It has been updated nicely by the present owners. The pool is great and we think only a couple years old. The house is set back from the road slightly. No house to the left and heavy shrubbery on the right add to the seclusion. There is only one tv in the house which created a problem a few times with our group. Wish the owners would put TVs in the master bedrooms. The beds were all comfy. Bedroom furnishings were new. The sectional in the living room is super old and not comfy. Lovely alcove area up three steps adds another dining area with a lovely view. The walk to the beach was 10 minutes not 5. Boardwalk is one house over. Really no water view from the house. We had two minor maintenance issues during our stay. One was addressed very quickly but the second one was on the slow side and it involved the pool. The full bath shower head is super old with zero water pressure. 3 other showers in the house though.

Very nice house, and we'll stocked with basic necessities. I do wish there were TVs in the bedrooms as I've rented alot of houses in the OBX/Corolla area and that is a pretty common ammenity. I also think that they should have someone swing by the house 24hrs prior to a rental to turn the refrigerator on. It was totally warm when we arrived and we had brought some food and beverages with us for our stay. But overall it was a great house, the pool is very big and really nice.. love the seating/ledges in the pool. Kinda of wish there was a hot tub tho ;)

We love this house! It is nicely decorated, comfortable, quiet, and we'll stocked with all the essentials. The beach access is very convenient. The only negative comment I would have is that there is only 1 tv in the house, which has poor audio quality. Also, access to the outdoor grill needs attention. A table near it would also be useful. We were vacationing with out extended family, who were mostly located beachfront, kust 2 blocks away. We would definitely consider renting Pelican Shores again if the rest of the family chooses a rental home close by.
