The owners were perfection on communicating and fixing problems. If you want access to a small/medium sized pond (there are perhaps 12 other homes around the pond), where swimming, kayaking, and fishing are easily done and enjoyable, then this is your cabin in the woods. The house is old, wood floors and stairs that creak, no dishwasher, but very comfortable for a family of four. Breakfast on the deck looking over the pond is perfection. Get bait at the bait shop on 22A, before the General Store, on the way up from Fair Haven, worms work best, forget the fancy lures. The General Store has good prices and a little bit of everything, including soft ice cream. If you have a dog and take her/him on hikes in the woods, be prepared to deal with ticks, lots of ticks. We didn't get any, but our dog was a tick magnet. Burlington and Middlebury are well worth road trips. Use Trail Finder for walks. If you like auto racing or just have an anthropological interest, the Devil's Bowl Speedway off 22A is a sensation on a Saturday night. Cabin doesn't have ESPN but it does have Netflix. Internet is unavoidably slow, so that's an additional excuse to be off the grid.
