Beautiful property, well appointed and super tastefully decorated house with dog friendly touches throughout. Central to everything in the area. Nice fenced in space for dogs to run, wooded trials to walk on. Definitely recommend!

My wife and I were looking for a pet friendly property that would also be fun for boxer puppy traveling with us. We were very grateful to find and book a long weekend at Michi’s Basecamp, it was perfect for us in so many ways.The home is new and beautifully done with all the little things so thoughtfully considered, The property is a dream for hikers, bikers, explorers and dog trail lovers. Surrounding Up North destinations are all quite close, we made our way to Empire, Glen Arbor, Glen Haven, Leland and Traverse City over our few days. For those who prefer to cook as I do, you can feel confident in the kitchen at Michi’s as it is very well appointed for almost any meal you’d choose to make while on a weekend getaway. The grill on the patio was nice too, direct line propane fed, so no risk of needing back up tanks for you grillers. We’d absolutely book Michi’s again and look forward to doing so in the fall as I’m sure the colors on the property will be something you’d not want to miss in the autumn. Thank you to our gracious hosts for allowing us to enjoy the special place you have built together!

Loved our time at Michi’s Base Camp! The place was spotless, new, beautiful and perfect place to have our pup with us! We felt very welcomed, host had great communication. I have already recommended this place to others and would gladly go back myself!

Beautiful Scenery, Beautiful House

Second time staying at Michi’s with my teenager and husband. We loved it just as much as the first time. The weather was cold and rainy but the nearby hike to Sleeping Bear Point was still amazing (probably even more so with the fog rolling in off the lake and the rain clinging to the evergreens making it look like a fairyland forest). Relaxing in front of the fireplace and having darts, ping pong or puzzles available to play for indoor fun was also great. And this is my all time favorite kitchen to cook in, even made sconces while we were there. Highly recommend a stay here!

Everything about this property is excellent! All appliances are new and higher end. The place is marketed as dog friendly and oh boy was it ever! So relaxing!

Perfect Family Getaway!

We had an amazing stay with our dog and one year old in tow! Michi’s base camp was perfect for a family getaway with easy access to road and mountain biking, hiking and a quick drive into town. Super baby and dog friendly! There were so many thoughtful touches to make you feel at home. Our hosts also provided great ideas of places to visit and see! Our only recommendation would be to have a pack and play crib and highchair available so we didn’t have to bring ours.Would definitely stay again and recommend !!

Step away from reality and disconnect into a new destination. Apron arrival we were presented with a small flower and wine. What a delightful welcome.Beautiful picturesque views, peaceful calming sounds of nature, adventurous hikes surrounded by tunnels of Michigan birch and pine trees reaching into the clouds, the morning calm of birds as you sip coffee on the patio and evening visits of deer that you can watch from the large windows overlooking the property.Michi’s Base camp is surrounded by beautiful flowers and landscaping that will make you feel like you’re away from the world.The layout of the home is perfect for two or four to sleep and a dog or two to play. The spa shower makes you feel as if you were in another world. The teak wooded floors and beautiful plants surrounding the spa take your calm and peace to the next level. Perfect for after a long hike, ride or paddle.The private fenced in play yard was our morning ritual to exercise our dog Monty before we went out for the day in town. He didn’t want to leave, and was ready each morning to go out to explore.All amenities are provided, and anything you would need is available. Beautiful kitchen windows and layout overlooking the property.We highly recommend Michi’s Base camp for anyone looking to unwind and/or take a step into an adventurous getaway.Hopeful to visit again someday.We loved our time. Thank you!

If we could give Michi’s Base Camp 11 stars out of five, we would!! Loved it!

Michi’s Base Camp is a beautiful and comfortable home close to Glenn Arbor. As branded, it is extremely dog friendly, and even has a large fenced in play area for those of us with imperfect recall from our furry friends. There are lovely forest paths behind the house to explore and the downtown area is close by and has lots of restaurants, shops, and bars. Super close to large beautiful lakes, bike trails, and running paths. The owners also have a collaboration with the Blustone Vineyards - guests receive a gift box with two bottles of wine - we went to the winery and had a great time! Finally, the amenities at the house include a fire pit and back porch with gas heaters and a solo stove - perfect for hanging out in the evenings to watch the stars. We can’t wait to go back to experience other seasons!! ♥️

Stunning house, picture perfect views and lots of fun activities nearby!!

The house is stunning and the views are picture perfect!! The location and size of the property made it seem like we had our own little private section of the woods. Every morning and evening we had a front row seat for nature viewing, watching wild turkeys and deer wandering through the yard. It was early spring so we spent time hiking on the nature trails at Sleeping Bear Dunes (15 minutes away) and hope on our next visit that we can take advantage of the mountain biking at Palmer Woods (5 minutes away). Even in rainy weather we were able to enjoy this beautiful location. The hosts have provided a ping pong table and board games that my teenage son had a blast playing and I enjoyed curling up with a book by the fireplace. The hosts did all the research for us and left suggestions for the best restaurants and vineyards in the area. I also enjoy cooking some of our meals and appreciated the full kitchen. It’s the first time cooking on vacation that I didn’t want for anything including all types of pans, mixing bowls, and measuring cups. We had a great time and I highly recommend Michi’s Base Camp!!! We will definitely book this location again and again!

If you're looking for a relaxing, well-equipped home that's close to everything Northern Michigan has to offer, this is the place to stay.

Michi's Base Camp exceeded our expectations in every way! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell a lot of thought went into making guests feel at home, from the well-equipped kitchen to the cozy living space and all of the little details throughout the property. The location was absolutely perfect—peaceful and private, yet just a short drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Lake, Glen Arbor, Leland, Traverse City, and countless wineries, breweries, and hiking trails. It truly felt like the perfect base camp for exploring everything Northern Michigan has to offer. One of our favorite features was how incredibly dog-friendly the property was. The large fenced-in yard allowed our pup to safely run and play, and the surrounding wooded acreage made for beautiful walks right outside the door. If you're traveling with a dog, it's hard to imagine a better setup. After a day of exploring, it was wonderful to come back, relax by the fire, enjoy the outdoor space, or play a game of ping pong. The home was quiet, comfortable, and had everything we needed to unwind. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Michi's Base Camp to anyone looking for a relaxing Northern Michigan getaway. Whether you're traveling as a couple, small family, or with your four-legged friend, this place is a true gem!
