Summary:

Chalet 1 at the Griffin Country Lodge is conveniently located on Mountain Rd, ~1 mile to Stowe Resort! Chalet 1 offers a full kitchen, amenity-filled living space (smart TV w/ sound system), and a plush king bed. Sit out on the deck and take in the views or go to the swimming hole in the river out back. Walk to the Stowe Rec Path, Matterhorn Bar/Grill, and Topnotch Resort and Spa. Bike to the Farmers Market and breweries from the Stowe Rec Path.



Guest Access:

There are a total of 6 Chalets on the property. So up to 5 other guests can be staying on the property at any given time.



The Neighborhood:

Stowe Mountain Resort is a little over a mile away - grab those skis or hiking boots. Griffin Lodge is on Stowe Mountain Rd, .1 miles to the famed Stowe Rec Path (for biking or cross-country skiing), .2 miles from the Matterhorn Bar, and .3 miles to Top Notch Resort (you can walk to the Top Notch wedding tent). During the ski season, the bus to the mountain stops out the front of the property - check its location on the GoStowe app!! We have a river with great swimming holes in the backyard. The Notchbrook Convenience store is .2 miles away in case you forgot food or necessities. You can bike the Rec Path to Stowe Farmer Market. If you are an adventurous hiker, you can leave the property and hike to summit Mt Mansfield!



Getting Around:

During the ski season, the bus to the mountain stops out the front of the property - check its location on the GoStowe app!!

Stowe Rec Path (for biking or cross-country skiing) is close by ~ .1 of a mile.

There is a large parking area with parking spaces in front.

If you are an adventurous hiker, you can leave the property and hike to summit Mt Mansfield!

We had a great stay at the The Griffin this past weekend. The host was readily available to answer any questions and the location so close to the mountain and the Matterhorn make it a great choice. We look forward to returning soon.

The apartment was well represented online. The check in process was easy. It was close to Stowe and easy to get to. The bathroom could use a serious upgrade but it was functional. There were no dish towels in the kitchen so I was glad I had some Handi-wipes with me. The washer/dryer worked well and that was a huge plus because we had been on a road trip for a week and needed to do laundry. It was great to have more room to relax since we had been in hotel rooms for a week. Overall it was a great stay in Stowe.

The condo was clean and comfortable, and spacious for a couple. Most of the interior has been renovated recently, except the bathroom which is dated but functional. The pictures on the listing represent the interior well. Location is great, only a few minutes from Stowe mountain, and the town is a few minutes in the other direction.A couple of things to note: the property entrance is difficult to see in the dark. The sign is not lighted. The property has motel vibes, but inside the condo is nice, clean, and comfortable. There is a pool on the property that has been abandoned for quite some time. There is a generous yard with picnic tables and grills.Overall a great stay, and we would love to come back!
