Great stay in Kihei

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had near perfect weather during our recent stay at Hale Kamaole. We really liked the location of the condo and had a nice view from our lanai. Unit 205 was satisfactory for our needs although in need of an overall update. The kitchen was well stocked to the point that there wasn't an empty cupboard for us to put our food in. There are chairs and other beach equipment in the storage closet although a few chairs are broken and should be removed. We did run into a problem on our first night. With the AC on to cool off the room, we used the microwave and immediately lost power. This being after sunset it was very dark and we could not locate the fuse box. It was very unclear who to contact between the hours of 5-7pm. We called the maintenance number but could only leave a message, then we tried security who said they didn't deal with maintenance issues although someone did eventually come around. We finally discovered that the power was only out in the kitchen. Thankfully the next morning we were able to find the fuse box painted the same color as the wall and tucked in by the refrigerator. Hopefully they will get this issue fixed so the AC and microwave can operate at the same time. All & all we had a wonderful stay and will look forward to returning.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit 205 had pretty well everything we need. Lots of cookware, silverware and dishes. It is close to the beach. The unit could use more wash cloths and face towels, only had 3 of each, which forced us to wash towels everyday. It did have lots of bath and beach towels. It could use a new cooler as well as the one there is in terrible shape; zipper is ripped. Also, no cooler ice packs in the condo for the cooler. The hide-a-bed was quite comfortable but the master bed could use an upgrade. The fridge sounds like it is on its last legs and is very noisy. We had issues with the toilet running and maintenance was there promptly and fixed it promptly. We really liked the sun shade on the balcony and the ceiling fans (never needed the A/C). All in all we had a wonderful vacation.

The Hale Kamaole office staff were friendly and attentive, especially when we had a small challenge with the internet connection. They looked after it quickly. As usual I really enjoyed meeting other guests and owners around the bbq area. To me this is one thing that makes the Hale Kamaole special. We will seriously consider coming back in the future.

It’s always clean, well kept and equipped with everything you need to make your stay memorable. It’s perfectly situated in Kihei, a walk to the beach, close to restaurants, close to the pool and tennis courts, not to mention the Pickleball court. The spacious unit has a view that is unforgettable either for the sunrise or sunset, and the grounds are immaculate. You will come back to this unit the next time you visit Maui and it will feel like coming home.

It wasn’t the most updated unit we have stayed in but it was clean and comfortable! They had enough beach supplies to make our beach trips awesome! The air conditioners worked well. My coffee maker was broken upon arrival so the office exchanged it easily and without troubles! Good customer service there!

Perfect Choice for a Family Vacation

The location, just across the street from a great beach and adjacent to the pool, couldn't have worked out better. The unit is clean and well equipped - we were happily surprised by all the snorkeling gear, beach toys, and other recreational gear available for use. Beds, including the pull-out couch, were comfortable, and plenty of bedding and towels provided, along with a very well-stocked kitchen. The owner has gone out of their way to make sure guests feel welcome, and was responsive to communication. Would definitely like to return, and would recommend to anyone interested in a stay in Kihei.

Reviewer Comments: The condo was excellent , probably one of the best stocked condo rentals we have had from the kitchen to the beach chairs ,flippers and goggles , boogie boards .the unit was spotless and clean and everything worked . The view from the patio was great and only a 5 minute walk to the beach from this condo and pool was great also . Would definitely take a look if you want to spend some in maui . I plan to rent it again next year .

Almost Home Away From Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the unit was in good condition for the price. We have stayed at the Hale Kamaole more than a dozen times at different units over the years. This unit has not been recently update as some in the complex but the rental cost reflects that. If you are looking for something a little more updated you may not want this unit. It really could use a deep cleaning in the kitchen and a scrub done on the walls/door of the bathroom. The faucet in the tub needs replaced as the temperature was not constant and you were either being burned or freezing so please be cautious of younger children using it. The kitchen has the basic amenities but not as extensive as others we have been at. Ice packs for the cooler, chip clips, cooking utensils and a nicer set of pans to cook with would be a few suggestions. On the plus side there is a a great selection of snap ware above the microwave. The bed sheets were paper thin and motel quality at best and we would recommend something with a little more thread count as a minimal upgrade. While there were beach chairs provided we did end up renting chairs for the week as the ones provided were so heavy and bulky to carry out on the beach it wasn't worth it. If you are looking for economy this is your unit if you are wanting something a little more home away from home this unit may not be for you.

PROS: Location, quiet, parking, lots of towels, lots of beach toys, plenty of cookware, washer and dryer, air conditioning, well stocked. CONS: Needs a deep cleaning. Bathroom not clean and very outdated. There is a moldy old smell in the entire apartment.

I loved how the condo allowed previous renters to leave spices, sugar, coffee, lotions and beach supplies for our use. Unlike a lot of condos they had every supply that we could possibly need for the unit. I could watch the sunset from my lanai. The beach was right across the street and they were awesome snorkeling and beaches nearby. There were many stores and restaurants along the strip, and better priced grocery store’s within 20 minutes. I would definitely recommend this place. The only downside was we could not get the Smart TV to work. It did not appear to be hooked up to the internet?. There was a paper near the main TV stating the telephone and TV/ cable not working. This was not a problem since I had brought my ROKU with me, and could set that up myself, but it should be fixed for other renters

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location across from a beautiful park, beach & cove where sea turtles congregate. Booking and check in was easy. However there was a huge problem after we unpacked. The toilet overflowed The office was closed (they close early on weekends). I called every number I could find in my check in paper. No answer. This was an emergency! Went back to the office and called every number on the board - finally reached an after hours number who said he didn't handle our unit but he gave me a number to call. I reached a wonderful person who came right over to help. It took hours to fix but after that we were good. Our first afternoon and night was ruined however. Nobody from the office ever called me back to be sure we were okay. Due to this lack of communication and follow-up I would hesitate to recommend this place. At the very least, a follow up call and offer to discount our stay should have happened.
