Great location

My family and I had a great vacation at RealJoy. The unit was clean and functional. We loved our view and to be able to walk out onto the beach.

Amazing views

The staff is very helpful, property is so close to the beach, which was awesome, and the pool was so relaxing. My only regret was that we had to leave a day early, due to an emergency at home.

girls getaway

We had a great stay. There were a few repairs that needed addressing and they were taken care of immediately We were on the top floor and had a beautiful view. The beach was lovely and the time of year was perfect as it was not crowded. We had great weather almost every day. There need to be beach chairs and beach towels available since the complex doesn't provide them after Nov 1 We would definitely return to this condo .

Good location

There is plenty of room in the condo. They do not advertise a washer and dryer, but I think this would be a good addition to the condo. Also, the patio furniture was old. It was very nice that standing fans were included and the view was great!

Condo nice, communication lacking

Nice condo, great view. However, owner did not communicate the code for the door entry. We were locked out (3 hours 2am-5am) until someone from VRBO texted the info. Had the owner texted it the day of check in, all would have been well. Bad way to start a vacation.

Would stay again!

Overall, it was a beautiful place and great location. The floors were noticeably dirty (black feet) and some basic necessities (coffee filters, salt pepper, etc.) were missing but not the end of the world. I guess for me, I thought they would be provided. Only major disappointment was that I specifically asked if this condo had beach gear provided and was told no, however there was an entire closet full of umbrellas and chairs. That would have saved us money and space when travelling. I also was told conflicting information when inquiring about an early check in. Again, our trip was still wonderful and the condo was as described, just the communication with RealJoy was more troubling than anything.

Caitlyn, we appreciate you taking the time to provide us with some feedback regarding your vacation rental experience while staying in Holiday Surf & Racquet Club 711, a two-bedroom, two-bath condo that was updated with new furniture, paint, wall decor, and patio furniture as of February 2021. We are happy to know that you thought this was an overall well located, beautiful place. We truly apologize for the cleanliness of the floors upon your arrival and for being told that beach gear was not provided when it was. We would have been more than happy to try and remedy the issue related to the floors had we been made aware during your stay. Beach gear is not listed on Real Joy's website. An earlier check-in may not be available if housekeeping and inspectors must prepare a unit for incoming guests. Some decisions for permitting an early check-in may have to be decided on the day of arrival. Housekeeping provides a limited amount (starters) of such products as toilet paper, trash bags, dish detergent, and paper towels. Guests must provide any other items needed during their stay. Condiments, spices, coffee, filters, etc. are not provided for food safety reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience. We will forward your message to property managers so that they may review and assess the cleanliness of the floors. Thank you for your patience and for choosing Real Joy.

Labor Day Disappointment

Upon arrival, the condo was a great disappointment! All furniture is very worn and dirty. The king bed in the master puts a new definition on uncomfortable. The condo was not cleaned properly. The Ac system at best never got below 75, and only when all windows and doors were covered. Floor fans are in the condo to help you survive! This condo really needs an updating or removed from VRBO! Holiday Surf and Racquet Club was well kept, but it is old and dated also. I would not recommend anybody to book this unit!

Wonderful location and great beach access but…

The evening we checked in the condo’s door lock jammed and sometimes if we didn’t make sure it latched it could be opened from the outside without a code! The place was DIRTY. I’m talking what looked like boogers stuck on the wall. It’s also very dated and not at all the way it is displayed in the photos that I saw on VRBO. Those pics look like they were take when the place was new. The master bathroom’s toilet took a few times to flush completely. There were bugs in the bathroom. The pans have definitely seen better days. Everything I tried to cook in them stuck to them. I was tired and exhausted from the long drive to get there and I wasn’t expecting to go into a dirty poorly cared for condo that we paid good money to enjoy during our vacation. The place needs a good renovation but at the very least a DEEP CLEANING. Please stop using those very misleading pictures. Take some new ones and show what the property actually looks like.

Overall, very nice condo!

Destin is our go to place for spring break. It was our third year in a row going down for the week, our 2nd time at Holiday Surf & Racquet Club. The location of the property is great, right on the ocean, easy access to the beach, and still close to the main part of town. This condo has recently been renovated, and the decor is lovely. The bed in the master bedroom is not very comfy. Airflow is a problem, the a/c unit is on the loud side, so you'll want to close your bedroom doors at night, but if they are closed, you won't get as much cool air in your room. Ceiling fans would go a long way. There are floor fans in the closets of the bedrooms, it helped. There are also beach toys in the dining room closet, that was an unexpected surprise. The kitchen is fairly well stocked. There isn't a large frying pan, we made tacos one night, and I had to use a little omelet size pan to fry up the hamburger, then switch it to a sauce pan so I could mix in the spices. But that really isn't a big deal at all. We had a few rainy days during our stay, there are puzzles in the 2nd bedroom closet, haven't put a puzzle together in years, but we had fun. Wifi is good, cable has a lot of channels. You won't be disappointed choosing this condo to stay in.

Needs Improvement

The guest bathroom water was ice cold. I messaged the property manager that got back with me very quickly, but they could not fix it until the day we left… so that bathroom was basically a 1/2 bath. We have a 12,14,&16 year old that were with us so all 5 of us had to take turns taking showers in the master bathroom. The lock on the front door is very loose. According to my husband, someone could easily break in. When we first got there, there were several black hairs literally stuck to the wall in the master bath and I had to take clorox wipes that I brought to clean the wall. Also, the towels had long hairs all over them. That was pure nasty when you get out of the shower and see that. Also, cosmetic things like the toilet paper stand is very rusted and needs updating which is a cheap fix. We would have picked some where else to stay for our family of 5 had I of known these things in advance… especially the bathroom the kids would use not having hot water. We were there 3 nights and no one could fix it until the day we were leaving. Disappointing.

Kyle, We are sorry that your vacation had some disappointing issues. First of all, we apologize if the unit was not as clean as it should have been. If you had let us know during your stay, we could have sent a new cleaner to redo the showers and bring fresh towels. We are sorry about the hot water not working properly. Our records indicate that it was the diverter and that we waited to fix it until after you left, at your request, since it was the last full day of your stay. We will send an inspector to replace the toilet paper holder and see if there are any other items that need attention. We appreciate your feedback and hope you had a safe trip home.

This place was perfect for what we needed! The view of the gulf from the balcony exceeded our expectations. Everything you need is nearby….restaurants, shopping and fun! We will definitely be staying here again in the future!

Pleasant vacation experience

The condo was clean and had everything we needed, and plenty of towels which usually are never enough. The view from the balcony was amazing and it was nice to be able to go to the beach, leave our things to eat in the room, and then head back down again. My only suggestion is that hooks be put up on the balcony to hang up beach towels to dry. I think there used to be something on the balcony but it was taken down and not replaced.

Family Vacation

We enjoyed this property! Very nice decor and wonderful view of the ocean. Location was excellent, minutes to everything. I love the Holiday Isle area. If your looking for a family friendly, quiet resort this is it. I also enjoyed the beach area, not too crowded and only had 1-2 rows of chairs. My only complaints would be the main bedroom mattress was really firm/ hard. Could use a plush mattress topper to create more softness. The light switches took sometime to figure out. Wish the resort offered more amenities. The sauna room was closed as well. Overall great place to stay, would book again!

Perfect Girls Getaway

We had such a great time at Holiday Isle. We spent time at the beach and on the patio watching the waves and even a few dolphins. Great access to local restaurants with car. It is definitely a place we would all come back to in the future.
