The property was very clean and close to the beach. We were the only ones on the beach on a Saturday afternoon which was so relaxing. The host was very accommodating and texted to make sure we were comfortable and made us aware of a current situation with a neighbor before we got there.

This is a cute older home... great space for our family. Located on a quiet road and has a rustic feel. We loved that the owner preserved the older charm and history of the home. There is certainly an "old home" smell, especially in the garage and lower level but not dirty. We were under the impression that that lake was across the street--it is actually at the end of the dead end, but still not far.

Thanks for your review. It remains an honor that you chose our place for making memories with your family. As you pointed out, the home was built mid 1960’s and renovated recently. We are super happy that you appreciate the way we have blended old and new. And basements will always smell a bit like basements I suppose. I’m glad you mentioned the beach location, a mere 300-feet east from this home - a tiny walk down that quiet wooded street you mentioned. Glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again. And thanks again for selecting our home.

Wonderful stay at cozy and well appointed woodsy home. We had a great long stay with our three young children at this property. Property features beautiful and mature evergreen trees and an easy two minute walk to a beautiful sandy Lake Michigan beach. The home has a great layout for families with young children with a cozy living room, and a primary suite offset from the other two bedrooms. The kitchen has a cozy cabin feel. Dan is very responsive, kind, and friendly. Highly recommend!!

Thank you for your kind review, Allison. It’s been wonderful having you and your family as guests for this midterm rental while your home is under construction. Folks like you who stay a little longer really get a chance to “try all the buttons”, so when a 5-star review comes afterward, it really is a rewarding testament to the place. Thank you! Hope to see you and your family again.

Great Stay

We truly enjoyed our stay here. Everything was very clean, beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the proximity to the beach and nearby golf courses. Great location that was close to everything, but had an up north feel with all the trees.

My family with kids and grandkids has been doing family vacation for 14 years - always in different cities and houses. We all agreed this was one of our top favorites! Communication with the owner was easy; but we didn’t really need to ask about anything because the property is in great shape, very clean, and Dan’s messages ahead of time plus the binder in the house gave tons of info. The way the house was designed, with sinks in the bedrooms, and hallway access to the “primary” bathroom worked out great for everyone. (Nine of us) Please note the washer & dryer are newer than the pics in the listing (nice!) and the appliances in the kitchen were in great condition too. We cook a lot, and we had everything we needed. The short walk to the lake was awesome and the beach seemed like it was just our own. We highly recommend this house for a Sheboygen vacation!

Hey there! Thanks so much for the great review. It’s truly an honor to be considered in the top stays for your family given your long history of traveling together. If the house worked great for your max capacity of 9, it’s reassuring it will be great for other groups of that size or smaller. Glad you put the kitchen to the test and found everything you needed. And yes, I need to update a couple photos showing new stainless fridge and new washing machine. Thanks for selecting this home for making family memories and you’re welcome back anytime.

Great family getaway!

Our family loved staying here! The highlight was beach access. Although it wasn't right on the beach, access was only a couple of minutes away walking to the end of the street and down a very short public path. Couldn't have asked for a better beach to hang out at throughout the stay. The rental had a homey-vibe, but was very well kept and had everything we needed. The owner was very responsive before and during the trip.

Our family of two adults and four kids had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful, updated old home. It was spotless when we arrived and stocked with everything we could need - towels, dishes and even beach toys for the kids. The ping pong table in the basement was a huge hit. We loved hearing the waves from the house and appreciated the short drive to Kohler-Andrae State Park, which quickly became one of our favorite spots. The location was perfect for enjoying Lake Michigan and exploring the area. The house had plenty of room for all of us yet still felt warm and inviting. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely return. Highly recommend!

Lake weekend

Our family of 5 was very comfortable at the house. Everything was clean and well maintained. We loved the location for beach access! The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The bikes and beach chairs were a nice addition. We enjoyed several area restaurants and didn't cook much but the kitchen had everything we needed. Our favorite restaurant was the Black River Grill just down the road. Make sure to call for reservations well in advance. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone!

We had a great stay at Dan's home. Upon arrival we noticed that the refrigerator was not working and shared this information to Dan. By the next morning, it was replaced! We had great line of communication and really appreciated the prompt responses. The highlight of this listing is the accessibility to the beach - it can't be beat!A few notes as you consider this listing: 1) There is no dishwashwer on site, so be prepared to wash dishes if you plan to cook a lot!2) The bunk is wobbly, probably best suited for a child not an adult.

Thanks for the review, Janani. Though a refrigerator suddenly going out is not something one can predict, I am super proud to have had coolers with ice immediately delivered within 60mins that night and a brand new refrigerator installed by 10am the next morning while you were out for coffee, minimizing any inconvenience. I appreciate you recognizing my super responsiveness in your review. Regarding your other notes, I’d advise closer attention be paid to listing details which indicate no loud power/water-hungry dishwasher is present in this eco-friendly quiet forest home. Both the listing and the welcome book clearly state the twin size bunk bed is indeed best suited for kiddos (not typically preferred by full-grown adults) while adults should consider sleeping in the several Queen beds that are available. But good news! We have restabilized the bunk following your visit and it is again safe for the bunkbed fans it’s intended for. Safe travels.

Comfortable well equipped house steps from the lake

Our family stayed five nights at Dan's house in Sheboygan Wisconsin. The house was very clean, full of comfortable furniture and bedding, and well equipped, including many supplies and amenities that aren't found in many places.Communication with the owner host before, during and after the stay was superb. There is a well-researched guest book full of information about the house and with detailed information about area attractions. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table in the basement on a rainy day. Out the front door and down the bottom of the cul-de-sac there's public access to the lake, and we enjoyed dipping our feet in and splashing around, although the water temperature at about 55 was a little chillier then what we were used to! The neighborhood itself is very quiet. There's a restaurant right on the corner of the road but we never heard any noise from it. It's an hour drive to Milwaukee and attractions there but there's much to do in Sheboygan as well. Just 5 minutes up the road, there's a Lake Park with parking, a pavilion and restrooms. It was quiet and nice. The kitchen is especially well supplied, two different kinds of coffee makers that already had paper filters for the one and some k cups for the other. Lots of pots, pans, dishes, utensils, even glass containers with lids for storage. Paper goods, wraps, etc., ere there, which was nice. Dan as a host was great, always available and helpful. He clearly is proud of the property, with good reason.

Hi. I’m Dan and originally from central Wisconsin. My son and I absolutely love this house and thought we’d begin sharing it with other families as it makes a great getaway for us and likely will for you, too.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Wait til you get there and you’ll know for yourself why this neighborhood is so great. The trees, the deer, the beach, the water, the park down the street, the cocktails down the street. One hour north of Milwaukee and one hour south of Green Bay. It puts you close enough and yet far enough away from everything.

この宿泊施設の特徴

This house was hand-built with care and detail by the previous owner whom you will find a framed picture of in the living room. Ed was a custom woodworker and did a great job capturing the forest in his house design and a smart layout with lots of pocket doors allows for customization to your needs as some folks turn in early and others might stay up late. It’s so welcoming and comfortable you will hate leaving, but will love returning to that vibe once again.
