This is a beautiful home and large enough for our family to gather for my dad’s memorial service. Walking distance to the center of town and to Box Canon. The view from the deck is just amazing!

Highly recommend! We stayed in Ouray for our daughter’s wedding, and this house was absolutely perfect for our large group. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out, get ready for events, and still have quiet time when needed — which was especially important since the bride was staying with us. The house worked beautifully for our whole party. Thank you!

Beautiful home right in downtown Ouray. We were able to walk to shopping, dining and Box Canyon Falls. Lots of parking. Easy short drive to Alpine Loop and Yankee Basin for off roading. The house is great if you have a couple of families for everyone to have their own space. There was only 5 of us but we all enjoyed having our space. The back porch is to die for. Amazing views. Kitchen had everything you could need to prepare any meal. We definitely will return with the rest of the family. Maggie and Lauren were always quick to respond.

Stayed here with a group of friends (12) and there was plenty of space for everyone. The house was clean and maintaiend. The location is great and we were able to park 6 cars in the area (usually difficult for a mountain town). We loved being so close to Twin Peaks hot spring and went over there for an afternoon. Easy walking anywhere in town. The house could use some more cooking utensils and pans, it was difficult to cook for a large number with a limited pan selection. Also, a few box fans would help cool the house off when first staying, if it has been closed up for a few days or if it is unseasonably warm. We would most certianly stay here again.

Mountain Adventure Retreats was founded on a deep-rooted passion for the San Juan Mountains and a shared commitment to excellence in hospitality and property care. The venture began in 2013, sparked by Laura’s long-standing love for Ouray County. A lifelong Coloradan who first discovered the Ridgway and Ouray area in 2001, Laura brought with her an extensive background in business, marketing, and travel management. Her years of experience in the ski and property management industries across North America’s premier destinations provided the foundation for a company built on community and exceptional service.

In 2020, the team expanded when Steve moved from Dallas to join Laura in Ouray County. Steve’s arrival marked the beginning of a new chapter for the company, bringing forty-three years of high-level construction management experience to the team. Having served as Vice President for some of the nation’s top General Contractors, he integrated professional expertise in budgeting, procurement, and project oversight into the company’s property maintenance and caretaking operations. His own connection to the state dates back to 1993, when participating in Ride the Rockies ignited a lifelong passion for Colorado’s dramatic landscapes.

Today, Laura and Steve work side-by-side to lead a dedicated team of professionals focused on delivering top-tier property care. When they aren't overseeing the finer details of a guest's stay or maintaining local residences, they are often found embracing the outdoors together. Whether they are cycling, skiing, hiking, or fishing, they remain inspired by the ever-changing seasons and the rugged beauty of the San Juan Mountains.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Staying in the heart of Ouray puts you in a vibrant, walkable neighborhood where the rugged beauty of the San Juan Mountains serves as your everyday backdrop. This area is characterized by its charming Victorian-era architecture and a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere that caters perfectly to both outdoor adventurers and families. You are just steps away from locally owned boutiques, artisanal galleries, and a diverse range of dining options, from cozy cafés and world-class breweries to fine dining steakhouses. The neighborhood’s compact layout makes it easy to explore on foot, providing immediate access to the famous Ouray Perimeter Trail, the thundering Box Cañon Falls, and the relaxing Ouray Hot Springs Pool. Whether you are gear-prepping for a day of off-roading or winding down with a stroll through the National Historic District, the central location ensures you spend less time navigating and more time immersed in the authentic spirit of this historic mountain community.

この宿泊施設の特徴

What makes this property truly exceptional is the rare combination of its massive eight-bedroom scale and its premier "in-town" location. In a market where over half of the available rentals are smaller one- or two-bedroom units, finding a residence that can comfortably host large groups under one roof is a rarity. Most accommodations of this size are situated on the outskirts of town, but this home places your entire group directly in the heart of the action. You have the unique luxury of a high-capacity estate where guests can walk to Main Street’s boutiques, breweries, and the Ouray Hot Springs Pool in minutes, eliminating the need for complex shuttle logistics or constant driving.
