Overall the property provided what we needed... rooms and beds for 7 people. However it wasn't what we expected. We stay in STRs often when traveling and I own my own. The listing does a very good job of not showing the busy main street in front of the home and makes it seem like the beach and ocean are within view of the property. It also does not show the next door neighbor's property. We arrived late and it was dark, the listing has you go to the back of the house to gain access but there were not lights on. I would suggest either making sure the lights are on or get a motion sensor light at the least. I wasn't looking for a 5 star stay but it was very average for the price. We didn't have time to go to the beach but if we had then we would have to go down a block and then head North past multiple buildings before seeing the beach.

Thank you for your review for the overnight stay you had recently with us. We do live on the only beach road that exists in Ocean View which does mean that all traffic comes and goes from this road. The benefit for being on this road is that we are directly across the street from the beach with only a row of buildings between our cottage and the beach. You actually do not have to go down a block to go to the beach as there is beach access right across the street at the light one house down from ours. Once you cross over at that light you walk past one building and are on the beach. I am sorry that you did not realize this as the walk is short and the beach is beautiful. We actually do have a light with a motion sensor in it for the back of the house and apologize that it was not working when you arrived. I did not realize that it was out. I will get another one ordered to put up in place of that one and appreciate you letting us know. Thanks again for your review as we take them very seriously and try to do our best to accomodate our guests needs. Thank you again and hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend! Ricky

Great location. Very close to the beach and a park. Great place for families. Large dining table worked great for us for Thanksgiving.

This home was perfect for my husband's birthday trip. We booked the home for one night. The home was clean and looked as advertised. The host was easily available, if we needed anything. The only complaint we had was that as the temperature dropped outside, the home took longer than normal to heat up. I imagine this will not be an issue further into the warmer weather. Since it was just my husband and I staying overnight, we just moved a blanket from one of the other rooms. Other than that, we didnt have any issues during our stay. Parking in the back of the home was a tight squeeze due to the size of our vehicle and the narrow, shared driveway between the buildings, but there was additional parking across the street for our friends, when they stopped by. I would definitely book this home again! The home would be great for a family or a friend's-trip.

The hosts were very communicative and welcoming before, during, and after our stay. The front yard was well lit, and good for taking our pups out at night. I was grateful to find somewhere available over Christmas that accepted two dogs. The kitchen was well-equipped and reasonably clean. This is a pet-friendy rental near the beach, the overall cleanliness of the unit was perhaps reflective of that. The house is right off of a busy road in a neighborhood with varied levels of upkeep.

4th of July Family Vacation

We have stayed at this same location four out of the past five years and have a great vacation every time! The location is great, a couple of minutes walk to the beach, cool loft area for the kids to hang out, extra bedroom for the mother-in-law and full kitchen. The owners have great communication and are very helpful. We would definitely recommend this location!

Weekend getaway

The house was just the right size for 6 women ranging in ages 13-73. One bathroom was fine for all of us. The rooms were of good size and the fridge could fit so much food. Definitely would stay here again.

We enjoyed our time in Norfolk! The cottage was a short walk to the beach where we spent most of our time. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The hosts were available to answer any questions we had. The upstairs area was a great place for our 3 children to spend some time relaxing.

Great weekend get away

To honor my elderly mothers request to go to the beach for a weekend, I looked for a small house that wasn't too expensive and where everything was on one floor. The cottage met our requirements. The cottage was clean, had ample towels, and the beds were comfortable. The check-in and out was very easy. The owners were very kind and pleasant to work with. We had a wonderful visit.

Great stay

My family had a great time at the house. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, and the house was very clean. We had to cross a busy street to get to the beach but the stop light crossing was only two houses away. Would stay here again.
