Crackling fires and quiet mountain views set the tone as you settle in after a day in the Vermont cold. Snow-dusted trees frame the landscape, and through the windows you can watch the slopes glow softly at dusk. Inside, warmth and comfort invite you to slow down, gather together, and enjoy the stillness that defines winter in Ludlow.

The space
This entire cabin offers a relaxed mountain retreat just a short drive from Okemo Resort, making it a natural home base for winter adventures. The living room centers around a stone wood-burning fireplace, where you can warm up after skiing or simply unwind with a movie and board games. Large windows bring the mountain view indoors, adding a calm, scenic backdrop throughout the day.

Heating keeps the home comfortable during colder months, and thoughtful touches make it easy to settle in and feel at home.

Sleeping arrangements
Designed to comfortably host groups and families, the cabin sleeps up to 10 guests across four bedrooms. On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms with twin bunk beds and another bedroom with twin beds - a setup well suited for kids, teens, or friends traveling together. Upstairs, the primary bedroom features a queen bed and offers a quieter place to rest at the end of the day. Bed linens are provided for all sleeping spaces.

Kitchen and dining
The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals during your stay, whether you’re fueling up before a ski day or cooking dinner together in the evening. With a dedicated dining table nearby, everyone has space to gather, share meals, and plan the next day’s plans.

Outdoor space
The private deck connects you to the surrounding landscape, even in winter. Step outside to take in the crisp mountain air and enjoy the mountain view stretching beyond the trees. When weather allows, the grill and outdoor furniture offer additional space to enjoy the setting.

Great property. We especially enjoyed the view of the mountain! The only thing I would recommend is to mark the entrance better if possible. Hard to see at night. Otherwise, a lovely visit. Strongly recommended.

Great Spring Skiing weekend

This property was awesome the views are magnificent. Looking out and seeing the trails from deck made the trip even better. The property was very clean, we love that there was enough towels and wash cloths laid out for all of the guest. Lots of little touches to make you fell at home. Rooms were laid out nicely,plenty of sleeping space as described in the booking process. I feel you get what you were promised and much more. We loved our visit and will be coming back next year.

Lovely Ludlow home

The View is a wonderful house, in a beautiful location only 3 1/2 miles from Okemo. The house has a great fireplace which made our stay very enjoyable. I hope to rent again next year.

Perfect ski spot

Overall this house has everything you need for a comfy, close ski getaway. It’s very close to Okemo. The house is comfortable- but very basic. Furniture etc all well used. Kitchen had everything we needed for a long weekend, well stocked. Views from the decks are amazing. Beds were a little hard. Could definitely use a mattress cover and egg crate. Definitely need 4 wheel drive in the winter. The road the house is on was snow covered and icy. We would stay again!

Overall great location and views

Very cozy. Lots of beds. Overall positive but would be helpful to know you we’d need to bring things like spices, plastic wrap, foil, etc. It would have been hard to use the outdoor fire pit as the area wasn’t mowed or accessible. It was comfortable and the fireplace was nice (bring your own lighter/firestarters though.) Would stay there again!

Okemo Trip - February 2023

A group of 10 of us stayed at this property for a snowboarding trip to Okemo and the location was perfect! 9/10! Space: There was plenty of space for us to spread out! The 2 bathrooms (versus 1) was a nice touch, the kitchen was super spacious and we appreciated the open floor plan to the dining table. The living room and fireplace were also super cozy and was perfect for game night. The mud room (first floor) was also especially nice for snowboard storage before and after a long day on the mountains! We didn't get a chance to use the balcony since it wasn't cleared due to snow, but it did have some nice views from what we were able to see. Parking: We were warned that we needed 4x4/4WD cars to get up the dirt road and so that's exactly what our group did. We did get quite a few inches of snow during our stay and management provided us with 1 shovel, which was nice but having management provide/throw salt on the dirt road leading up to the home would have been a nice added touch since our 4x4s wouldn't have been able to do much with ice. It's also a STEEP incline that's right off the main road so coming down was a bit scary since there was the chance of sliding directly into the main road with very little space to stop to look both ways. Took 1 point off for this reason. If you book this place, definitely bring a bag of salt in case if you're worried! Surrounding Areas: Super close to restaurants, rental shops, Okemo Mountain (10 minute drive) and whatever else you needed. Restaurants in the area do close early though so definitely book reservations in advance or order takeout in advance. Overall Experience: Getting in touch with management was relatively easy. I called a day in advance to ask for the door code to avoid any technical issues and the property manager was actually there when it was time for us to check in - he was very kind and just made sure everything was tidy and cleaned before our group arrived. I would book again!

Summer golf in Ludlow, Vt

The accommodations were wonderful, plenty of space and the fireplace is fabulous. Very close to town and Okemo. Vacasa sent us the incorrect code to get in, which was an issue since we arrived in a snow storm. We arrived 45 mins earlier than check-in and they wouldn't help us till after 4pm. Which required two calls to them and waiting on hold.

Exactly what we were looking for

Perfect ski house tucked away on a hillside overlooking the slopes of Okemo. Amenities were great and the place is well kept and in great shape. We were excited to find the ChromeCasts on the TV's in each room so the kids could watch what they wanted while we caught up with our college friends. Fireplace is beautiful. It was really cold that weekend but we are already thinking about doing it again next year.

Beware the misleading and missing information!

We planned this visit months ago with friends, to attend services at Weston Priory, and take in the autumn leaves and our football games together. Just before making the trip, our friends discovered statements on the rental site to the effect that a 4-wheel drive vehicle was needed to get to the house. Since we couldn't reach anyone to confirm whether this was true, our friends felt they had to opt out of the trip. Needless to say, that pretty well defeated the whole purpose of the stay for us. But having paid a considerable sum for the weekend, we went ahead, expecting that we could at least enjoy our games between Priory services. Within an hour or two of arriving, though, we found we weren't able to turn on the TV. I called the number for Vacasa and explained the situation at length. The operator read from the info they'd been provided (most of which appeared on the web site) -- which was wrong in terms of the remote controls at the house, and therefore useless. "We're submitting a ticket for it right away," she told me. We received no calls or emails on Friday night or Saturday morning. I called Vacasa again on Saturday morning and spoke with a very helpful representative, who assured me she was going to try to reach the caretaker to either call or come by. But there was no call or visit. I called again, and spoke with yet another Vacasa representative, who advised that she was "pinging" the caretaker again -- but still, there was no response whatever. Representatives I spoke with all indicated that the info they've been provided indicated that there was no cable tv service at the property. But the promotional info on the rental site touted the TVs, and info sent to us said that there was cable until October 21st. Why the inconsistencies? And why no help when needed? In addition, people should be aware that the stairs within the house are extremely narrow and angled, without a railing all the way down. A very tricky (treacherous) set of stairs for anyone older or somewhat infirm. The space is nice and the view is spectacular. The kitchen has most items needed, and the location is great for those visiting the Priory or Weston. But given our very poor experience with the info posted about the site and the Vacasa management of the property, we won't plan to rent the space again.
