GREAT place to stay!

We had two families stay--4 parents and 6 children. All had a great time! The little cousins had so much fun playing in the pool and on the beach together--couldn't have been better!

Best place we’ve stayed

This condo, the Wild Dunes resort, and Isle of Palms all exceeded our expectations this summer. Having stayed in rentals all over the East and Gulf Coast for many years, we’ve had our share of disappointments arising from misleading descriptions, but this was everything it promised to be. 10/10 highly recommend.

Summerhouse IOP

We had an amazing week in this condo. It was perfect for our family of six. The proximity to the beach and pool is perfect. And the surrounding area is beautiful. Beach not too crowded and was very clean. We have scheduled again for next year. ☺️

Girls Spring Break Trip

We all loved this condo from the minute we stepped inside! It felt very clean and inviting, and we instantly felt at home. I was so pleasantly surprised to find many extra amenities we didn’t expect such as fans in the bedrooms (great for white noise lovers!), lots of extra pillows on the beds, and plenty of nice clean white bath towels in all the bathrooms. The beach itself is gorgeous and so easy to walk. I understand now why they call it “Wild Dunes”, it’s breathtakingly pristine on this end of the island. The owner texted me a few days into our stay to be sure that everything was meeting our expectations, which I thought was so nice, and again before we left to let us know we could add a day to our stay if we wished. She was also quite flexible with our check in and check out times which we very much appreciated. Thank you, Julie, for a wonderful stay. I would definitely come back here again!

Door handle on screen door fell off upon entrance to condo. Several kitchen cabinets broken and difficult to open and close. Kitchen drawer broken and unable to close completely. Kitchen dirty. Needs updating.

Perfect for Our Family

This was our second time vacationing here and we absolutely love it! The condo is beautiful and in an amazing location. The balcony overlooks the beach. You are very close to the pool. And the beach has just the right amount of people. Not too crowded at all. We used a local chair/umbrella rental company, so had a reserved spot of our own on the beach every day. Love the area. The condo is perfect for our family of six and we can’t wait to return next summer!

Great location and helpful owner!

Property was exactly as described. It was equipped with everything we needed to have a great week in Wild Dunes. The panoramic view from the balcony was a favorite retreat after a long day at the beach and pool. The biking paths in the resort were much nicer than I had expected and we enjoyed exploring.

Heaven at the beach

Our stay at 401 Summerhouse was perfect. The communication was excellent, the location was exactly what we wanted, the condo was lovely with a well appointed kitchen. We spent most of our time at the condo sitting on the balcony looking at and listening to the ocean, the beach, the birds. We hope to go back in the future.

Extras are Amazing!

A+ We are frequent VRBO renters and 401 Summerhouse is one of the best appointed places we have stayed in! It makes a vacation extra nice when the property provides so many of the little things you will need or may need during your stay…like: trash bags, laundry detergent/stain spray/dryer sheets, liquid hand soap and room spray for each bathroom, beach chairs, awesome chairs for the porch. I could go on and on with this! All appliances are new. Decor is current. There is an actual pantry! Julie and her family have a lovely place, in a great location, with thoughtful extras. So appreciated!!!

Beautiful Condo, Great owner!

We just completed a week stay and didn’t want to leave! The condo is beautiful and the views are unbeatable. It’s located inside Wild Dunes, its prime season the beach isn’t crowded and they area feels safe and homey. Julie was awesome to work with. We had two families, teens ans adults. Super short walk to beach, the teens loved the pool at night, we walked the mile up to Sweetgrass Inn for ice cream and drinks at Hudsons Market a few times. There are restaurants in wild dunes and isle of palms, we mostly ate in Charleston and Mt Pleasant for dinner but you could stay on the island the whole time if you wanted we had too many in Charleston we wanted to try. Our stay was great, we will definitely recommend!

This beautiful condo with windows to view the beach for all directions was spot on amazing. We came seeking family time, rest, relaxation and life sat! The owners thought of all details and offered so many extras like a coffee bar, bath shampoo and soap, and even had a basket of cooking spices. The decor and amenities were spot on. We will be back!!!

Milestone Birthday

I can say enough about how accommodating and thoughtful Julie was for our stay. Not too forget the location is prime for beach access and the pool. We were celebrating a milestone birthday for my wife and we sent her ahead of the family for a few quite days. The owner had flowers and a bottle of wine waiting for her. She enjoyed the views from the master bedroom and the early morning walks on the beach. The condo easily accommodated the rest of the family. We topped the week’s stay with a birthday celebration and night out. The condo was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay successful. What made it special was our gracious host and the location. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a great beachfront stay.

Great Beach Getaway

The condo is in Wild Dunes Resort which is a beautiful gated community. Beautifully decorated with a cozy beach house vibe. Comfortable furniture and beds. Well stocked kitchen. Amazing views from the balcony. The beach never disappoints. Everything you can possibly want is in close proximity. Even with the pandemic, we still managed to visit all the sights and enjoy all that Charleston has to offer. This vacation was exactly what our family needed. Julie is very accessible and a pleasure to work with.

We have been vacationing at Summer House since our honeymoon in May 1988. We feel lucky to have purchased the end unit being closest to the beach and we enjoy this location even more than ever!

Location, location, location!

When you walk into our condo, the first thing that you notice is the ocean straight ahead. Besides the beautiful beach-decors in the condo, the brightness of the full ocean views speak for itself "you picked the right place".

Summer House is a favorite along the beach front. With rubberized coating on the building being rust free, routine maintenance, and every year a major facility improvement is completed. It is beautiful!

The elevator is just outside our front door. Carts to move suitcases and groceries are available.

We have a full beach in front of Summer House villas. Wild Dunes with the City of Isle of Palms continue beach restoration! We have been lucky and have had a full beach in front of Summerhouse since the 2008 beach restoration project via hydraulic dredging of 885,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand. Beach restoration has continued since, ensuring plenty of beach. Again in 2017, both directions south and north of Summer House had sand dredging completed, adding even more in front of our condo. The dunes have continued to grow and protect our beach.

There is a full beach all the way around to the bay opening. It's a nice walk on the beach, or bike ride. Bike riding at low-tide is common and fun.

Since I get questions about taking elderly parents on the beach, it is a walk on sand to the ocean but for the most part it is flat, packed sand and easy to walk on. If you’re bringing an elderly loved one or someone with walking difficulties, consider renting a beach-accessible wheelchair. There are a couple local places, but you may want to rent in advance of your stay for availability. Go to iopbeachchair.com
