20 minutes from all sights

Yasir was a great host provided basics of what you’d need for your stay. The location was perfect as it wasn’t in the hustle and bustle of the city but was still close to everything we wanted to see. The stairs are a bit tight so carrying luggage up and down took some effort but wasn’t too bad. Very diverse area providing lots of food options if you wanted. Street parking could get difficult to find late at night but other times we had no issues.

Just what we needed

Honestly, I was hesitant and a little worried after reading some of the reviews, after I booked this Vrbo. I almost canceled or just threw my money away. Boy am I glad I allowed myself to form my own opinion. We are country folk coming to Chicago to visit my daughter while she performed. She assured me that the area was fine. She was right! Diverse, but everyone was very friendly and kept to themselves. The description was accurate. Sure, a few steps, a lot of luggage would be a downside, but overall a typical Chicago apartment. A few suggestions- extra blankets, a fan or portable AC for bedroom on a really hot day. The AC in the livingroom works great! Overall great stay and a pleasant experience! 9/10

Shootings in the streets!!! HORRIBLE STAY!! We booked this place for 3 nights and left after the shooting terrified me and my family on night 1!!! The owner was unwilling to compromise on any refund whatsoever. Client safety and satisfaction is clearly not important to owner. The worst service or customer care I have ever experienced.Low income area!!! Not charming. No walk-ability for dinning or even a coffee.No available street parking. We had to drive around for 40 mins to eventually find something.Narrow curving staircase that is very difficult to carry luggage up. Filthy walls and floors in staircase.Smells like marijuanna all throughout building, old building and many different greasy foods cooking. Access to laundry, sure, in a dungeon basement in adjacent building. The house itself was decorated modern, cute visually, but the cleaning smelt like lemony vomit. And the bathroom door when closed locked you in because the door knob is either broken or not installed properly. The kitchen was probably the best part. But unfortunately they didn’t even offer Kureg cups and that was the only machine to make a coffee. Windows were so difficult to open. Triple locks that are old and sticky. I suppose not an open window kind of neighbourhood, but there’s no AC, so it was hot, stuffy and terrifying so we had to close them after the shooting because we were hearing people in the streets and terrified by the noises. Much to say this was the most unpleasant and disturbing VRBO
