Unfortunately, our stay did not meet our expectations. When we arrived, we discovered the cabin had no air conditioning, even though the neighboring cabins did. When I texted the property manager, Joel, to ask how to turn it on, his response was, “There’s no air—welcome to the mountains.” We are from the mountains of West Virginia, and in 2026, air conditioning is a reasonable amenity to expect—or its absence should be clearly disclosed in the listing. The cabin also had a strong, musty odor that lingered on our clothes even after we returned home. Because of the smell and lack of air conditioning, we had to sleep with the windows open, which made me uncomfortable due to the possibility of bears in the area. The listing should also clearly warn guests that the road and driveway are not motorcycle-friendly. We traveled there on motorcycles, and the access was much more difficult than the description led us to expect. More accurate information about the lack of air conditioning, the condition of the cabin, and motorcycle accessibility would help future guests make an informed decision.
