PORT ST JOE
Port St. Joe, located along Florida’s Forgotten Coast in Gulf County, is a charming and laid-back coastal town known for its natural beauty, rich history, and welcoming community. Nestled on the shores of St. Joseph Bay, the area offers stunning water views, pristine beaches, and some of the best fishing and scalloping in the region. PET FRIENDLY WITH STIPULATIONS
We welcome well-trained dogs to stay in this home. If traveling with a pet, please note that a non-refundable pet fee will be added after booking. We require that your dog be completely potty trained and prefer dogs older than 2 years old. Crate Trained pups are preferred to deter mischievous behavior while you and your party are enjoying the beach. It is understood that while we do allow dogs with the mentioned stipulations any damages that occur during your stay will be charged to the credit card on file with the minimum fee being $350.00.  


INITIAL SUPPLIES - UPON ARRIVAL
Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.

The code to the gate was somewhat problematic. Not working at a time and the response time to calling in from outside the gate was excessively long. Otherwise, the home was clean and comfortable. Thank you

First thing i noticed when i arrived was the horrible sceptic tank smell lingering at the front porch. Needed additional assistance to check in. Could not locate the home during arrival. Kitchen was clean and appliances were in good condition. Wifi was easy to connect to. Located near highway, very noisy and loud. A bug kept making annoying noise each morning. Bedroom TVs could have been larger sizes. Bedrooms and bathrooms are small and tight to move around in. Central air worked good. Porch and deck could use extra cleaning but overall it was nice. Loved the distance from beach access. No issue. Community was pretty quite during the day. Use the pool without others present.

A little slice of paradise…

This was exactly what we needed…a little slice of paradise in paradise! This location was perfect. We could go to the beach or the pool- in a matter of minutes. We love Port St. Joe and plan to return very soon! If possible, we will book this location again!

Cozy cottage

This was a very cute and cozy cottage. It was easy to book, and locate. However, once we got there we had the wrong gate code. Being that it was after business hours it took a little time to get in touch with someone. So I would suggest verifying the codes before arriving and during business hours. Overall we had a great experience.

Enjoyed the Saints of Old Florida

Lovely & clean home, convenient to several nice beaches & Port St Joe community. I should have reviewed map more closely to find a home away from street noise, however, as I value quiet outdoor space. Very well equipped kitchen although the coffee maker leaked (could be used error?). Outdoor furniture could use an upgrade for comfort but it was adequate. Loved being so close to the quiet pool area. The beds were very comfortable! We loved our stay overall and used the convenient location to explore from Panama City to Appalachicola.

Time to unwind

A little bit of a rough start but recovered quickly. Owner very responsive. House was clean with nice amenities. Master bedroom was a tad too small for the king bed squeezed in there. Community very pet friendly with nice places to walk. Public beach access very close for Windmark and Mexico Beach.

Nice getaway

This property was comfortable and well equipped with kitchen items. The screened in porches were a nice addition. The road traffic could be heard quite a bit in the early morning, but overall a very charming place to stay.

Great getaway

The rental process was simple. The house is beautiful and cozy. We felt at home. My pets loved the enclosed porch as much as we did. The kitchen had all necessary utensils and gadgets to dine-in which we love to do. The beach just a few blocks down was fabulous and dog friendly. Owners were good at keeping their dog’s on the leash. We would visit again for sure!

Disapointed

Where to start. Upon arriving at the location, we had no trouble with the provided information to enter the cottage. The kitchen area near the refrigerator smelled like dead fish and upon opening the freezer, it the smell was even more horrific. After getting unloaded, we decided to make a pot of coffee. There was brewed coffee left in the maker and the cord had been rolled up to indicate the maker was ready to use along with the coffee filter and grounds. Very disgusting. As luggage was taken upstairs, it was obvious, either rooms had been dusted in quit awhile. Two remotes (down stairs living area, upstairs, king size bed room) didn't work. We purchased new batteries, and still the remotes didn't work property. Only 4 towels and 4 wash cloths to be shared with 6 people. Luckily, we brought some of our own. There was food left in the cabinets above the microwave. Upon looking to see if the rental had a cookie sheet, the corner cabinet door was broke at the bottom hinge. The towel bar in the king side bedroom shower was broke and left "hanging" to appear to be nothing wrong with it. The worse of it... was when we went to pull the hide-abed out.... the right side of the bed frame was broke and not attached to the wooden frame and unable to pull it out to make bed.. not to mention, trying to put it back into place with a bent metal frame. Two members of the our party left, after trying to sleep on the floor for two night. The third night, the queen size bedroom bath room had ants crawling on the counter, luckily, there was bug spray under the kitchen sink. I made 5 attempts to contact someone through email with attached photos of these issues and never got a response back. We never did find a hot tub in the area of which the cottage was located. What was to be a very pleasant relaxing vacation with family, turned into an over priced uncomfortable camping trip. The two stars instead of one, the people we spoke with in town, where very friendly and helpful with providing information on the best beach locations and local places to eat.
