I am from SC. All American Drum Major in HS. John Phillips Sousa Award for excellence in music and leadership. Trained the University of South Carolina Drum Major's and the Drum Major for the 1996 Olympic Band in ATL.
Received a concurrent resolution from the SC House of Representatives as 'Goodwill Ambassador for the State of South Carolina' while in college in 1987.
Worked at USC in Public Relations--traveled with all the USC teams, Asst. Director of Fellowship of Christian Athletes at USC. Started my own company while in college (Kabuki: The Art of Mascot)--made and redesigned college and professional mascots (i.e USC's First National Champion 'COCKY'; SC State's 'Bully'; SMU's 'Seymore'; JSU's 'Gamecock'; Kelly Tire Company's 'Star'; Charlotte Knights International League Baseball's 'Homer the Dragon', etc.)
Worked as an ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter in the SC School System, and as an Asst. Band Director at Spring Valley HS. Worked in professional athletics (NBA Charlotte Hornets/Charlotte Knights International League Baseball) in Public Relations for several years.
Became a national director for a company (National Spirit Group/National Cheerleading Association) in Dallas, TX. Developed a curriculum, published a handbook and had a staff of 13 traveling the nation teaching Public Relations. Taught classes at the National Cheerleading Coach's Conference for several years on 'University and College Imaging Enhancement'. Founder of the National Mascot School.
I've met 2 1/2 Presidents, movie stars, and Pope John Paul ll. Still friends with many guys in professional sports, as well as several Grammy winning (Christian) music groups.
Started a turn-key Cabinet/design business (Quality Kitchens).
Fell in love with Savannah, and bought a house here. One step closer to my goal of retiring in Savannah.
