Completed in 2023, The Milky WayFarer was designed with a modern eclectic touch to offer a cozy, simplistically colorful, and welcoming retreat. Perfect for small groups or families, this thoughtfully crafted space invites you to relax and recharge under the expansive skies of West Texas. With light-filled bedrooms, spacious bathrooms, and inspired common areas that blend color and comfort, it’s an ideal setting for both unwinding and entertaining.

Situated on the west side of town, The Milky WayFarer is a short walk to local favorites like The Waterstop, Convenience West BBQ, BORDO, and several uniquely "Marfa" retail shops. For those looking to explore further, our four road bikes make it easy to venture deeper into town for a day of dining, shopping, and gallery hopping.


THE KITCHEN

Milky Way Farer's fully equipped kitchen offers ample counter space, a large center bar, plus stainless steel stove and oven for you and your guests to cook and enjoy shared meals. Pony up to the bar for an evening cocktail or relax into the simple pleasure and morning light with complimentary coffee and tea.


We supply:

* Coffee, creamer, sugar

* Cooking basics (olive oil, spices, hot sauce)


Bring your own:

* Drinking water: Marfa water is full of minerals. The tap water is perfectly fine to drink, but we've found that most guests prefer bottled. Our fridge also offers filtered water.

* Food and provisions.


LIVING ROOM

The living room is as comfortable and cool as they come. Furnishings include a couch with a chaise plus two chairs. The open floor plan allows for conversations and vibes to flow between the kitchen and living room spaces!


BEDROOM 1

Just down the hall from the common spaces, you'll step into bedroom one featuring a king-sized bed, and robes for when you're ready to wind down in the evening or lounge in the morning. During the day, the light is simply spectacular. At night, draw down the black-out shades - you might not need to with our dark night skies!


BATHROOM 1

Bathroom one is located just across from the first bedroom and features a double-sink vanity and large shower with geometric tile. Please note that the washer and dryer are also located in this first bathroom - we tucked them away behind the door perfect for long-stay laundry days.


BEDROOM + BATHROOM 2

Bedroom two totally embodies our warm, modern charm. Spacious and art-filled, guests can tuck right into another king-sized bed. Right off of the bedroom is bathroom two which features another double-sink vanity and large shower.


BACKYARD

Our backyard rounds out The Milky Way Farer. Large and fenced-in, it's the hangout for both guests and their pets. (See notes about pets below). If county ordinances allow, we invite you to build a fire for s'mores in our backyard pit or cook outside using the charcoal grill. Sit, sip, eat, enjoy!

BIKES

Marfa is a bike-friendly town. You'll find four bikes in the house. We'd love for you to use them! Please reference the house guidebook for instructions on how to unlock and use the bikes.

Leave a Book, Take a Book – A Little Marfa Magic for Book Lovers

We’ve curated a tiny library of reads perfect for lazy Marfa mornings or starlit nights. Forgot a book? Take one! Finished yours? Leave it behind for the next adventurer. It’s like Prada Marfa but for stories—unexpected, charming, and totally worth a look.

PARKING

We keep the parking pretty simple around here. It's free and on the street in front of the house or on the left-hand side of the house on the street.

PETS

Dogs are welcome at The Milky Way Farer! Our fenced-in wrap-around yard is a perfect spot to let them enjoy their own Marfa getaway. Please be sure declare them in your booking, and take a moment to review our pet policy below to make sure it will work for you. We do not host cats.

- Dogs must be crated if left alone in the home.
- You must pick up the yard after your dog.
- Dogs are not allowed on the bed or sofas.

We collect a $45 non refundable pet fee per pet in order to compensate our incredible and hardworking housekeeping team for extra work and to cover general wear and tear. Please be aware that you will be charged separately for any pet-related damages should they occur.

In order to ensure that our guests have expectations aligned with our house rules, we require all guests to sign a rental agreement upon booking. You will receive a link to e-sign immediately upon confirmation of your reservation.

Check in/Checkout: Check in starts at 4pm. Check out is at 11am. If you are interested in an early check in or late check out, please message us! When possible for our housekeeping team to accommodate, we offer early check ins or late check out for a $50 fee.

GUEST ACCESS

Guests have access to the entire house and free parking on the street. The house has a key code that will be provided in the welcome letter, alongside other helpful instructions for making your stay perfect.

Our home is your home. And, our dedicated team with boots on the ground in Marfa is a quick message away.

Marfa is wonderfully walkable, but if you’d rather cruise in style, we’ve got you covered—four beach cruiser bikes are ready to roll. Whether you're pedaling to grab a morning coffee or taking the scenic route to admire the mystery lights (no guarantees, but hey, it’s worth a shot), these bikes make exploring even easier.

Prefer four wheels? Park your vehicle right in front of the house, then ditch it for the true Marfa experience—where getting around is as much about the journey as the destination. Walk, ride, wander... just don’t blink, or you might miss something delightfully weird.

- -REQUESTING TO BOOK MEANS AGREEMENT TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS: Only the guests listed in the reservation request are permitted at the house. Inviting un-declared guests to the property will result in immediate forfeiture of your reservation. You will be asked to leave and will not receive a refund. Parties are not allowed. Smoking is permitted outside only. Pets are welcome only if we approve them in your initial inquiry. A non-refundable fee of $45 per pet is required. Milky Wayfarer accommodates a maximum of 3 pets. Pet related damages will be separately billed for should they occur. A fee of $400 will charged should an undeclared pet be brought on premises. PET RULES: pets are not allowed on beds or furniture pets MUST be crated if left alone you must clean up the yard after your dog we do not allow cats at the property Check in is anytime after 4pm/ Check out is at 10am. Earlier check-ins are not possible unless you submit a specific request to arrive earlier, which is accepted prior to your arrival. Check out times are firmly enforced. It is important for us to be able to make the house ready for the next guests, so they can find it in the same condition you did! Penalty for check-outs after 10am but before noon is half the cost of one night's stay. Penalty for a check-out anytime after noon is the full cost of one night's stay.
