My name is Maria Campo-Nutt and I am from the Philippines. My background is in art and culture having been an art curator back in the Philippi es. My husband and are part of a group who are passionate about hospitality and historic preservation. We love this block of Lamar Avenue so we bought 5 properties all historic and some built before the Civil War. Our goal is to preserve as much of Selma's 200 years of history to be enjoyed by people for generations. We enjoy meeting people from all over the world and having them experience a mix of Southern and Philippine hospitality. We look forward to welcoming you to Selma.

This block of Lamar Avenue contains some of the most historical buildings in the Riverview Historic District. Riverview is part of the largest, contiguous historic districts in Alabama. The avenues are lined with all kinds of trees and the historic buildings are in the process of being restored. The area and its homes are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Many people see it as a Little Savanah . Once fully restored, the area will showcase the best architetures of its time period. Not ony that, it is very close just walking distance to the Historic downtown which is the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement. Truly the Historic Riverview combines the grandeur of a period gone by and the historical forces that shaped the new way of life for the country.

Named La Petite Savane by its newest owners, this historic mansion is believed to have been built before the Civil War. The NHRP files describe it as a 2 storey structure with 4 columns that span its 2 storeys. It opens to an elegant foyer and a magnificent staircase leading upstairs. This edifice was eventually transformed to 6 apartment units to house the "fly boys" of the Craig Airforce Base in the 1950s. The ownership of the building had undergone several changes before it was purchased by ReGenesis Enterprises LLC in 2023. Many guests have resided in La Petite Savane including an air traffic controller at the base, local millennials and contractors working at the different industries around Selma.
