This was our eighth visit to Casa Pero, we love it so much here, away from the pressures and worries of home in this lovely house..
We went with 4 friends to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the tiny hamlet of San Biaggio where there is no through traffic and lazing by the pool is a real treat.
The local food is excellent, and very inexpensive, particularly if you go to Agritourismos, which serve local produce and generous quantities of wine, which is included in the price. The owners have a detailed housebook which lists all the good places, including new ones discovered by them.
When it was hot we cooled off in the pool, then sat in shaded areas nearby. The valley surrounding the house is full of olive trees and forests, and the garden is a delight.
The Piane Grande is a 'must see', about 40 minutes drive away, high in the Sibillini mountains Totally unique, breathtaking views, and its little town of Castellucio has several super restaurants. In the past we have taken a picnic to enjoy on the alpine plain.
So, get away from the crowds and traffic, try speaking a little Italian using the house phrasebook (the locals are very friendly and welcoming), you will love Casa Pero as much as we do.
