We had a wonderful time! An excellent rustic cabin setting, in what seems like your own edge of the forest. Would definitely recommend, especially for the price compared to other places in the area.

Very cozy, felt like home away from home. Kitchen was well stocked with all cookingware. Easy to find and a short ride to groceries and essentials. Cool little squirrel trick! The bird feeder by the dining table was lovely to bird watch in the mornings! Hot tub was a plus but due to weather was not able to use. Wish there was a washer dryer to clean clothes after our lovely pitfire but not a deal breaker. Looking forward to visiting again. Thank you.

Cozy and Peaceful

Loved the cabin and the location. A great place to go if you want to be out in the woods but still just a 15-minute drive in to Blue Ridge. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Stay over Thanksgiving

Hot tub was very clean and worked great. Cabin was very homey and comfortable. Hosts were quick to respond although we didn’t need anything major. They even prepped a fire for lighting in the cast iron stove/fireplace.

Outstanding getaway!

Unique place, love the water feature, and the wood stove. Only there a few days, but would highly recommend and live to go back. Great place.

Relaxing Stay!

This was a wonderful cabin! Everything we needed was provided and we loved how cozy this property was! Charlie was an accomadating host as well, he came out to the cabin one evening and built us a fire! We'll definitely be returning for another girls trip.

Thoroughly Enjoy our Stay

We enjoyed the fall leaf changing season. Cabin was nicely decorated with everything we needed. Beautiful setting with some secluded distance from other cabins. Close to hiking but could easily get to Blue Ridge for shopping and dining.

Great Family vacation

We had a great time and really enjoyed the cabin. Charlie and Judy are wonderful hosts we hope to stay with them again sometime. Cabin is exactly as described and did not disappoint. Huge thanks to Charlie and Judy!!!

Perfect Getaway

Took half a week off to visit this property, and we had a blast! Awesome location, isolated but not too far away from everything. Lots of cool hiking and fishing spots around, too. Hot tub was awesome. We highly recommend checking this place out, and I definitely wanna come back.

Perfect Getaway

We wanted to unplug for Spring Break, and this was perfect. This cabin had everything you would need and more. I can’t wait to go back. Charlie made everything so easy from booking to check in.

The cabin was exactly as Charlie described.

The cabin was a great, quick getaway. It’s a very peaceful location, and his waterfall gives added serenity. We didn’t really do much in the surrounding area - we were just looking for some relaxing time, and we definitely found it.

Perfect Rainy Getaway

Charlie was awesome. We got here and the hot tub was ready, wood was in the stove ready to be lit and warm. The place was perfect. Honestly, we wanted to stay longer and look forward to coming back again sometime.

Highly Relaxing and Comfortable

Charlie’s cabin was the perfect spot for a getaway and relaxing stay. The location is just far enough away to remain quiet without contending with off-road conditions. Only about 20 minutes from the grocery store and a short drive to surrounding areas with restaurants. Would stay again at the next opportunity.

Loved our stay

We had a little trouble with the GPS finding the cabin but a phone call to the property owner got us right on track. He was very helpful and gave us good directions. The cabin was just the right size for our family and we loved the location. We got to meet the owner and he is super nice and gave us a few tips on places to access the river. We hope to stay again.

Weekend getaway

The property was good and owner was great. I just think there should some updates to the outside of cabin and the shower needs a different way to get in and out and a different shower head.

I am a retired real-estate broker, commercial pilot and farmer, my wife is a retired school teacher. We both enjoy the cabin and all of the amenities. We have 9 children who we are very proud of. I came down from Kentucky many years ago and my wife from Ohio. We met 12 years ago and married, and we couldn't be happier. We spend a lot of time when we can at the cabin, and love every minute that we are there. I enjoy lying in that special hammock my daughter brought me when she visited Columbia, and watch the deer feed in my front yard at the cabin.

We had no intention of renting the cabin when we bought it and my lovely wife is a big fan of Chip and Joanna, on the Fixer Up Show, enough that we just payed him $1350 for two nights in the carriage house in Texas. You can probably guess how she furnished our cabin. Pottery Barn here she came, sofa, 4 drawer chest , etc.
we rented it to some friend and he said you should rent this out when you, are not using it, and that the rest of the story.

We just took one look at the area and the beautiful forest surrounding the cabin and said lets buy it. God really blessed us for here are the things that I wanted in the forest:
1. River is across the street, and and excellent rafting, floating, and fishing, especially Trout. 8 minutes.
2. Hiking, bicycling, with many trails close by, and the beginning of the Appalachian trail, just 10 minutes
3. Longest swinging bridge this side of the Mississippi River, 10 minutes.
4. The Indians called this area the land of the waterfalls, because there are so many. A 60 ft, I made, behind the big cabin, and many more in the area, a big one just 10 minutes.
5. Merciers Orchard, many people come up here just to visit the orchard. 15 minutes
6. Blue Ridge Mountain scenic rail way, in Blue Ridge. 12 minutes
7. White water Rafting, where the Olympics were held, class 4 and 5. 45 minutes
8. Great shopping and fine resturants as well as winery and breweries in Blue Ridge.

9. Gold mining a nice set up for the public, 4 minutes. One of our tenants last year stayed a week and picked up severial pieces of gold out of the river, and one nugget worth $600. Of course he came back and show us, and I am sorry i didn't make a picture.
10. most of my guest like to build a camp fire and I have a perfect place at the back door
and free wood to burn, (check that out at other cabins).
11. Swan Drive -in movie theater 13 minutes.
12. Lake Blue Ridge , good bass fishing, and boating rentals, cool mountain water. 12 minutes.
13. I have a hot tub, located on the back porch. This is my favorite, especially if you have your significant other with you.
14. Maybe the best of all is just lying in the hammock and watch the clouds go by and get that R/R you need so bad. I can list that many more but I am tired of writing.
