Yes the host was fine. I'm not sure if he is new to renting a VRBO, but the condo itself had some issues. We did have some significant issues with the address to the unit., which took us hours to find in the dark with no street signs and no cell service. Some of the dishes in the cupboards had food particles on them. Pretty disgusting. They had to be rewashed before we could use them. There were not many cooking utensils in the drawer to cook with. No spatulas, and no flipper, but there was a wooden spoon. The fridge was set to warm when we got there. We had to put everything in the freezer until the fridge got up to temp. The ice bin in the freezer had food particles in it also, had to wash that before making ice. The shower had someone's long hair all over the floor. Didn't see that until I was using it. That was very disgusting. A giant roll of toilet paper from a truck stop was in the master bathroom. Not sure if that was normal for Costa Rica, but we bought regular toilet paper for our stay and left a 4 pack for the next family. The tub in the washer was broken. We didn't find that out until we used it and it sounded like it was going to explode and come through the wall. Then we saw that the drum looked broken. Not sure how that was not known. The main window for the view was covered in some king of smear. So we stared at that for a week. The pools are ice cold, which is not the owners fault, but it just added to the poor experience of the whole trip.
