Cozy 2-bedroom cabin in a lovely slice of heaven in Hesperus off Cherry Creek Rd

Escape to a cozy and peaceful cabin in Hesperus for a cozy retreat. Our cabin sits on 35 acres in a beautiful valley in Southwestern Colorado. Rustic and cozy, this 742 sf cabin has a bedroom with a full bed and a loft with 4 twin beds. Get away from it all and relax in a quiet atmosphere. Kickback, relax, and enjoy everything our little slice of heaven has to offer. Pets are allowed. The cabin is supplied by well water + is 9 miles down a graded road so expect a 4wd vehicle in the winter and quite a bit of dust on the car in the summer. The water is well water so note that it can leave skin feeling dry (which we supply lots of lotion) and can feel mineral like. Please note we received a negative review from a woman named Deborah that you shall see below. If you read the complaints thoroughly, you'll see that she DID NOT read any of the property details as we clearly explained all of this in the details that you're currently reading. Please only book this cabin if you understand what a cabin experience is like. We have been proud owners and have rented on other platforms for three years and never have had a negative review. And please note that Colorado is seeing more than usual fires (as of 8/12/25) in our area, which is completely out of our control. If you would like to have an update on fire activity, please reach out to us and we can let you know :-) Our place is heavenly, and we take special care of our cabin and our guests. Please reach out with any questions. We're here for you!

40 min to Durango, 35 min to Mesa Verde National Park, + 25 min to Mancos.

We recommend a 4wd vehicle for winter. Roads are plowed to the entrance of the ranch + plowing is set up for heavy storms.

Lovely San Diego beach home with all the amenities we needed for a great time at the beach. Communication with the host's property manager was very good, he was super responsive and helpful on the VRBO message email. Would definitely stay here again!

This was a perfect place to stay. It was quiet and beautiful. The host ensured that we felt welcomed. Our 2 dogs often rested on a blanket observing the valley below. The night sky was like a blanket of jewels; no street lights to mar the ambiance of the setting. This home is very pet-friendly and the host always responded quickly to our questions. This home is perfect for anyone looking to get away from the noise and bustle of the city or town. The home was clean and toiletries were thoughtfully provided by the host. The location is ideal for visiting Durango and Mesa Verde which were our planned destinations.

This property was exactly what was advertised and the log cabin experience we were looking for. It was off the beaten path but still close enough to civilization. We even saw 4 bears about 4-5 miles north on hwy 105. Thank you for great family memories

We love that you adventured around the property! We are also going to get a better toaster so that you can toast two pieces of bread at the same time. We appreciate you letting us know about that. Safe travels and come back again if you’re back in the States!

This property is a hidden gem. The cabin was immaculate and surrounded by beautiful trees with an excellent view of pastures, horses, and hills. The cabin was just as described and centrally located between Mesa Verde National Park and Durango. It is just enough off the beaten path to see the wondrous heavens at night without any light pollution. Kathleen is an amazing host and if we are ever in the area again, I would not hesitate to book her place again if it were available. Highly recommended! Thanks Kathleen for a wonderful experience!

It was a great little cabin! The bed was super comfy! I love watching the horses in the pasture down below. While drinking my morning coffee. The kitchen had everything I needed, plus there was a grill just out the door! We have stayed at a lot of different places and this host the best by far with communication! I would recommend property to anyone wanting to get away to peace and quiet!

The property is very remote. It is nine miles down a dirt road. If you want to hike or go into Durango, it’s an hour each way. The leather furniture was ripped and badly patched and in terrible shape. The water is from a well and has so much iron in it that I couldn’t shower. Our trip was cut short because sirens were going off and a helicopter carrying water flew over the cabin. There were forest fires in the area. As we drove out we saw the smoke. I would give this property a 3 on a 10 scale. VRBO had the property rated 10/10 but it is far from a 10/10.

We recognize that Deborah DID NOT READ ANY OF THE PROPERTY DETAIL INFO AND ACCURATE AND THOROUGH INFORMATION about our lovely cabin. Unfortunately, we can't fix stupid! We went above and beyond to accommodate every one of your requests and answered all of your questions. We have never had a guest like yourself, but I'm assuming this is par for the course with you when you travel... For guests who are interested in renting our cabin, please read all of our reviews at Airbnb and the two previous ones on this listing. Deborah clearly didn't read any of the information about our cabin. And if we don't fit your criteria, please don't book our cabin. It's incredible for those who love nature and want to escape to a quiet and peaceful cabin :)
