*Please note that there is a bunkhouse on property which may be occupied during your stay. This is also listed and can be rented simultaneously which is great for larger groups or multiple families to stay together on the same property (bunkhouse sleeps 5). This has an outhouse (on property).
This is a rustic hunting cabin with some modern amenities! Newly remodeled kitchen with new appliances! Our cabin is a work in progress and will be getting continued improvements as we find the time. Indoor fireplace is NOT currently operational and cannot be used.
This cabin is located in the center of the entire trail system. You can ride directly from the cabin to the trails. No need to trailer to the trail heads if you don’t want to. Great riding trails and direct access across the road on Camp Grayling property just North of this property which can also be accessed to the trail system.
Hartwick Pines State Park was just listed by “THE TRAVEL” as one of the "10 Beautiful spots in Michigan that are seriously Flying under the Radar".
With it’s natural beauty it is one of the largest state parks in the Lower Peninsula. It is named for its 49 acres of old-growth pine forest, which is some of the last remaining in the state. There are 21 miles of year-round trails, including the accessible , 1.25-mile paved old growth forest trail located adjacent to the visitor center. People can engage in hiking, photography, wildlife and bird watching. The park is open everyday from 8am -10pm and the Visitor Center is currently open on Saturdays and Sundays.
Hartwick Pines State Park is very close by (less than 3 miles) and offers scheduled events and activities year round. Enjoy the museum, gift shop, mountain bike, XC, hiking and snowshoe trails, picnic areas, bird watching, hunting and fishing.
Trails include: Weary Legs (trail length 7.5mi) - Hiking, Snowshoeing, Mountain Biking, XC Skiing; Deer Run Trail (trail length 5 mi) - Hiking, Snowshoeing, Mountain Biking, XC skiing; AuSable Trail (trail length 3 mi) - Hiking, Snowshoeing, XC skiing. Northbound Outfitters rents snow shoes.
Hanson Hills Recreation Park is a 20 minute drive from the cabin and offers hiking, mountain biking, skiing (both downhill and XC) and snow tubing.
