Juan Dolio area

My wife and I have not been to Juan Dolio area of Dominican Republic. We are looking at investing in real estate in the area. We looked at the area with a very critical eye. We found the area safe to walk during the day and night. The restaurants were very good and friendly. The mini market is very convenient directly across the street. We would recommend this VRBO

Great stay

Very nice apartment at Marbella. Has a that you need for your beach stay. Very comfy beds, kitchen supplies, beach towels. Marbella is a great place to relax at the beach. It’s quiet, clean and everyone at the place is very nice and helpful. It’s close the airport and away from the noise. The check-in was quick and very easy. Victor is a great host who is available right away for questions and concerns. Thank you Victor.

Everything we needed and more

We had a great stay with our family and Victor was available for questions and help when needed! The grounds are great, clean and safe. The apartment is great and seems to have upgrades from the pictures. Beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels and pillows. The kitchen has what you need to cook and everything works! It was super helpful to have a washer and dryer (we had two kids with us) and the air conditioning and fans made the stay comfortable😊. We would definitely return to this apartment again!

Amazing!

This place is AMAZINGGGG everything is beautiful, the place the view, the people, the pool, the beach, the food, there’s restaurants right in front of the resort…I had an insident that my son left my book bag full of important things in it and they found it, put it away for me and returned it, I was so happy for this..the host amazing, the securities amazing, you feel safe and well protected here, they attend to you in an amazing way to make sure your good and having a great time…100% would definitely go back me and my whole family loved it..I definitely recommend! Everyone & Everything was on POINT! Loved It❤️❤️

Needs some sprucing up.

Check in was a little off. Front desk couldn’t find the confirmation of reservation. Had to call the owner, Victor to confirm, and it was 9pm at the time.Dishes were a little dirty. There was no hand soap for either bathroom and only 1 roll of TP with each bathroom. There wasn’t any detergent for the washer. There were sheets and towels left in the washer and dryer. The AC was turned off when we arrived, it was 80F. There were no instructions on how to turn on (you had to turn on at the breaker panel). Overall, this unit needs spruced up, and cleaned thoroughly.

Great resort bad unit

I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I was when we arrived. Here is a list of things you should never have to deal with: Unit not ready till 7:00 PM Door on oven broken Dishwasher broken Toilets flushed by themselves every 5 minutes Faucets so limed up barely any water Shower diverter in guest bath inoperable I could go on but what's the point. On the other hand every thing about the resort was spot on. If you decide to vacation here definitely find a different unit. A comment to Homeaway. I dont know how you monitor your rentals but for the very first time in renting through you I was completely disappointed. It appears you may have become a take the money and run organization

Great pool and beach. Condo needs help!

We had a great trip but the condo needs some attention. We went with the intention of cooking most of our meals but we were limited in this kitchen. The dishwasher and the oven did not work. The oven door was actually falling off! Coffee maker was too small, dish rack was gross, can opener fell apart and frying pans are scraped down to the aluminum. Because the bedrooms are in the back of the condo, they are dark. The lighting in the bathrooms and bedrooms are bad! With a small investment, this place could be great. There was also no welcoming package with instructions and suggestions of what’s around the town. We needed to know where the grocery stores were and restaurants. We literally went in blind (we had to turn on the breaker to turn lights on). I LOVED the 50m pool and that the pool was close to the beach so you could sit in the middle and have the best of both worlds. The palm trees on the sand were perfect so you could get out of the sun. I would return to this place if I knew that they have made some improvements. Great for all ages!

Property has direct access to pool and beach as well as gorgeous balcony with direct view of beach. Good central AC, enough sheets and towels. Owner was easy to communicate with and did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. However, the shower tubs are too high and this was dangerous because many of us slipped when trying to get out because of the uneven height of the tub with the floor (floor of tub is higher than floor of bathroom). Also the bathtub design and showerhead's position causes water to spill all over the floor of the bathrooms when one takes a shower. Despite these issues with the showers, we had a great weekend!

Excellent Get Away

We always enjoy a quick get away out of Santo Domingo. We find Marbella condos to be quiet and relaxing. Victor is very accommodating host. I would highly recommend.

Breath taking views

We stayed for 2 weeks and had a great time. The resort is nice and was pretty quiet for the most part. During the week days we pretty much had the pool and beach to ourselves! There are plenty of cabanas and seats all of the time. The pool is enormous and gorgeous. Downfall is the resort has very stupid rules at the pool. For example the have a no touching rule so I couldn’t hug my boyfriend etc. You can only drink in one jacuzzi and no music allowed. Good thing is you can do what you want at the beach. We saw people night swimming etc. The place was in good condition overall. It was as described. Some items can use attention or replacing like the master bedroom bed is horribly loud! Also the toaster oven should be replaced as well. The microwave and refrigerator are new and the bathrooms are pretty updated. The living room area and balcony were my favorite. You can sit out there staring at the amazing views all day. Maybe adding some cards or board games to the house would be a good idea too. There are 3 TVs in the house with cable. We had some WiFi cable issues where it went out our second day there and they didn’t come out to fix it until 5 days later but Victor was great and in communication and even went to buy us a portable WiFi until the issue was resolved. 👍🏻 There is also WiFi at the pool area and it reaches some areas at the beach. Overall a great vacation and we are looking forward to going back! Thanks Victor! See you soon.

Marbella Juan Dolio

We enjoyed our stay. The overall property was in excellent condition and we'll maintained. Security on site. The condo was also in very good condition. The appliances we're brand new and kitchen was well equipped. We did a fair amount of cooking. Condo was within walking distance of a couple of small grocery stores and several good restaurants.

Definitely not a 5 star condo!

This could be a 3 or 4 star condo, but for a 5 star many things should be replaced and improved.Don't expect to cook in this kitchen.The oven and the dishwasher don't work, there are little black BUGS in the kitchen cabinets, pans are scraped, electric stove is dirty and not working properly. The bathrooms should be renovated (faucets and shower curtains are disgusting,.).The master bedroom is spacious but very dark.There is only one small window facing the corridor.There must be something wrong with the plumbing.Every ten minutes there are very loud noises coming from the bathroom which wake you up in the middle of the night.All pillows on the chairs are very dirty, for six persons there are only 3 beach towels and four towels in the bathroom. The pool and the beach area are great but don't expect to swim in the sea because it is very shallow.If you stay in this area you must rent a car otherwise it's not possible to buy groceries you need for cooking.You have to go to San Pedro to get everything else but something to drink (don't expect to see any prices in these supermarkets). The main reason for my negative review (my first one after many years of traveling in the Caribbean) is the owner of the condo and his behaviour. He says that he always answers all the questions but the truth is that he only responds the questions he wants and if you let him know that there is something wrong with the appartment he tries to convince you that you are the only person who ever mentioned this problem and that there is something wrong with you not with the appartment. At the end of our stay he actually blackmailed me. I asked him if we could check out later than 11 am because when we arrived, the appartment was cleaned at 8 pm and not at 2 pm as it should be (I cleaned the terrace and the living room myself so that we had a place to sit while waiting for the cleaning lady).I expected him to check with other guests if maybe they plan to check in later. After a very long talk with him (more or less his talking and me listening,he promissed we can check out at 2 pm if I GIVE HIM A 5 STAR REVIEW. His request really shocked me. Never in my life I've been told what to do or write so we checked out before 11 am and I am writing this review only to aware other travelers what they can expect from this owner. I am sure that he will find a tone of excuses for my review and the situation in the appartment because this is his way of dealing with customers

Great beach apartment

We had mostly food in the bar in front of the building, tasty omelettes, and fresh see food, service is slow but it was worthy. Owner always present through what's up, what was really helpful.
