The portion of the home that we had access to was very nice and the size accommodated our group of 5 quite nicely. The 10am checkout time was a bit early considering that they require you to take your garbage to the dump when leaving and our car was full so we had to run a separate trip in the morning before leaving. We are used to a 11am checkout with most of our stays.

We had another amazing stay here this week. It was unusually hot, so the AC in the house was definitely a nice bonus! The kids had fun on the water, and a great time just playing games in the house. Would love to come back again. Thank you for having us!

Relaxing family getaway

What a beautiful location and property. Quiet and serene. House had everything we needed. Kitchen was well equipped, having the kayaks to use was great, allowed us to explore the pond. Rebecca was a gracious host communicated every step of the way and made sure to answer any questions about the house or area.

Beautiful Place but Bad Experience with Host

Paid for and looked forward to a week at a beautiful camp not knowing it came with a camp counselor. To start, being charged 150 for sheets and towels was not ideal but even more surprising when we went to use them and they smelled bad. Do you allow renters to charge outside of your platform? Constant babysitting the first few days and even sent over what she shared was landscapers to only be told by so called landscapers they were here to inspect the dock because we came in contact with it. Why not be transparent? No problem having it inspected for you. On top of that she violated the policy on giving advanced notice which was even more disturbing as there were young children. A real shame given the camp itself is stunning and 10/10 experience outside looming over our shoulders as adults. Believe that's also against your very customer friendly privacy policy. She lived next door and instead of being helpful drove anxiety and not the best experience.

Beautifully relaxing

Laughing Loon is perfectly situated on beautiful Hancock Pond. It feels tucked away from everything except trees and water. A great place to unwind.

Perfect lake house!

Very clean and modern house with water access in a private, quiet area. Rebecca was super helpful and nice with recommendations on what to do in the area. Highly recommended!

Lake Life at its best

We had a lovely stay at this well appointed property. Its location on the water was secluded and peaceful. My kids absolutely loved paddling around on the kayaks and catching toads on the well mainted grounds. We would love to come stay again!

Perfect home in the Lake Region

We really enjoyed our stay at the Laughing Loon! The home is beautiful and very clean and well-stocked. Rebecca was also a helpful and thoughtful host. Hancock Pond is a gorgeous and peaceful lake so if you are looking for a more remote, quiet location this home is for you! The town of Bridgton is nearby (20 min) and is a very cute and quaint town. We also took day trips to Portland and Kennebunkport and they are just an hour way so the location was really ideal for us. We hope to return someday to the Laughing Loon! And added bonus was kayaking on the lake and seeing loons close by!

Perfect winter weekend

We had a relaxing, peaceful stay at Laughing Loon. There was ample space for the six of us, plenty of heat for a snowy, January weekend, and the loveliest views of the lake. We especially enjoyed sitting by the fire, playing games, and looking out the huge windows to see the people fishing on the ice and bald eagles flying by. It was the perfect spot for our family gathering, and the hosts were super easy to communicate with. We would love to return - highly recommend!

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION!

We came up a bit late (after docks were out), but the nature and location were amazing. Great colors, precious loons, and lots of lobster. Wonderful trip.

Beautiful home on a beautiful lake

We had a wonderful time celebrating my mom‘s 80th birthday at this gorgeous lake house. We used the kayaks and canoes multiple times, roasted s’mores, and sang songs around the fire pit, and cooked some delicious meals in the well appointed kitchen. The lovely owner was super welcoming and very helpful with all questions. I highly recommend this house for a wonderful retreat.

A great place to stay that for a relaxing family vacation!

We had a fantastic stay at the Laughing Loon! Our family of 4 plus 2 young kids had a blast, relaxing and cooking breakfast, kayaking in the huge lake, exploring the surrounding secluded towns, and taking in everything Maine has to offer. If you're looking for seclusion and a great time away from the stressful life at home, this is the place to stay. We can't wait to come back!

Just the 2 of us for a week

We had a wonderful time at Rebecca and Bill's home they meet us on our first day went over everything we needed to know regarding the house. The house had everything we may have needed and more. Rebecca Told us some good spots to explore in the area. we relaxed, kayaked, went on long walks. One of our favorite spots in the house was sitting at the picture window looking out on the water. Such a great time!

Thanks to Rebecca and Bill! A wonderful visit at a beautiful home/location. The foliage was at its peak, Fryburg Fair was so fun, restaurants where great(lobster, clams, haddock, pizza and Italians!). Kayaking, reuniting with family and friends, fire pit, and and just setting at the large bay window viewing the view was absolutely magical. We travel a lot and this home was a 5 out of 5!

Lovely week in Denmark

Perfect Lakefront accommodations

We have previously stayed on several of the area lakes and we now have a new favorite! You cant beat Laughing Loon’s perfect accommodations! The lake views from every room~fully equipped modern kitchen~Screened in porch with dinning table~provided water vessels are a few of the amenities we thoroughly enjoyed! Hope to be back soon!

Laughing Loon Stay

Four adults stayed at the lake house very comfortably. Lots of room and nicely decorated. Bluetooth speaker available for your music. The house was so wonderful with large windows everywhere overlooking the beautiful lake. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and condiments etc. Bathrooms had shampoos /conditioners available. Good hiking nearby. Kayaks and canoe and paddle boat were available as well. Loved using the fire pit at night. Thank you Rebecca for renting your lovely lake house to us.

Another perfect stay

Yet again another beautiful and bountiful stay at Bill and Rebecca’s laughing loon. It had everything we needed and the fish were biting. We even saw multiple bald eagles and some other large eagle/hawk species we could not identify. Thank you for a special week!

Happy New Year!

We just returned home from a wonderful winter getaway at Laughing Loon. Our family had such a great time staying at the property. From the very first email, to arriving at the lake- Rebecca and her husband helped create a very memorable New Years for our family of four (kids 7 and 9). Their welcoming approach, hospitality and friendly communication set the stage for a great getaway! The house was beautiful! It was spotless upon entering, very spacious yet still felt cozy enough for our family movie night by the fire. Nothing could top waking up to the sun sparkling down on the snow blanketing the lake. We couldn’t decide what we enjoyed more- the beautiful views from the large windows, curling up in the comfortable beds with a book in hand or sipping a glass of wine by the gas fireplace. As for the surroundings, your property is absolutely beautiful. Very quiet and peaceful yet close to Shawnee Peak for a day of skiing. It was a true sense of life on the lake during winter. Thank you again, you provided a very special place for our family to ring in the New Year. Looking back, it will be nice to remember the good times and the family fun we shared admin the difficult past year. Stay safe and be well! Looking forward to returning to the lake in the future!

Our family has been vacationing and making memories here for over 25 years. This is our second property on Hancock Pond - our little slice of paradise.

Laughing Loon is adjacent to our own vacation home on Hancock Pond. We purchased it in 2016 in order to accommodate our growing extended family reunions. In 2016 and 2017, we extensively renovated the house with fresh paint, new floors throughout, new lighting, new grill, new drilled well access, new state of the art heat pump system for heating and AC, new furniture and mattresses, new dock stairs and waterfront restoration, and new TV/internet access. In 2019, we continued our renovation with the addition of a new living room and kitchen, more skylights and a cedar entry closet.
We are proud to welcome our own family here and believe that you will be delighted as well.
