This ground floor, two-bedroom suite in a restored historic building is just minutes from Main Street and the only unit in the building accessed through the original front door. Recently refurbished with upscale furniture, new cookware, and luxury bedding, the unit elegantly combines Nantucket style with modern accents and upgrades. Here, you are in the heart of town, walking distance to Steps Beach, and a block from the Wave - Madaket Route for free island-wide (and pet friendly) transportation. There is a shared yard and patio in the back of the building providing an outdoor oasis surrounded by beautiful hydrangeas and perennial gardens with a gas grill and outdoor furniture for your enjoyment. Please note that there is NO off-street/dedicated parking at this unit. Street parking is available, but West Chester Street is zoned for two hours only from June 1 - September 30.

The reason for the low rating was for a gas leak.The property is spot on for a quick walk to town and beach transit, but we experienced some issues during our stay. Walking in for the first time, we noticed a heating gas smell and alerted the host. While the host was quick to respond, we had to follow up later in the afternoon to get an ETA on when the gas company would arrive to investigate. We lost a day to this visit and the tech confirmed there were multiple leaks on the furnace which caused the gas odor, thankfully repaired that day.We also felt the house rules (sent the morning of check-in) were strict, and included a noise monitor to police quiet hours. Unfortunately, the same courtesy wasn't given to us, as upstairs neighbors woke us frequently at 6:00 AM with heavy stomping. Between that, and a broken outlet in the master bedroom, it wasn't the comfortable stay we hoped for. The next traveler will at least benefit from the added safety. The host acknowledged our feedback but did not offer any reduction for the lacking experience.

We appreciated the guest promptly reporting the gas smell on the first morning of a five night stay, following which an emergency call was placed to the local gas company for response and addressing within their standard response time (<4 hours) and for which independent access to the unit was granted with guest’s permission. Other issues could have been raised at any point during the stay for mitigation, as we make clear that we’re available 24/7 through the app and calling/text, but unfortunately none were until the final night of the stay. Guest otherwise was clean and followed all house rules in the listing.

Very nice condo. The place was clean and the host was very responsive. Only hiccup was exterior power washing at 8:00 am on Saturday. Not sure the host even knew about it as it may have been a general building maintenance issue. Otherwise, great place!

The craftsmanship in the place was excellent. High end linens and towels. Kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with supplies. Short 5-10 minute walk to town. Moderate road noise from a busy road and as the building is from 1800 you do hear the people on the floor above but overall it was not much of a distraction. Excellent communication from the owner. Probably the best rental I have ever stayed in.
