Apartment with balcony in the charming old town of Nice

My wife and I mostly live in Edinburgh, Scotland and split our time between there and Nice. We bought the apartment on rue Neuve in 2011 and completely renovated it (it didn’t have a proper kitchen back then!). We now live in the nearby neighbourhood Cimiez and the apartment on rue Neuve is available exclusively for guests. I enjoy engaging with guests, offering advice and suggestions of things to do and places to go. On a day to day basis the apartment is managed by a local agent who meets guests and ensures the apartment has been prepared for their arrival. She is from Nice and speaks English fluently.

For a visitor, the Old Town is Nice. It’s the historic core of the city and dates back to Ancient Greece when it was called Nikaïa, one of Greek mythology’s nymphes. The Old Town may be ancient but it’s also the centre of the city’s contemporary food, art and culture scene.

The apartment is on the third floor of an original 18th century tenement and retains its original features such as the timber beams and original steps. It’s incredibly authentic. If visitors like the idea of experiencing a slice of Mediterranean life, then this is the place to be. Given its age it doesn’t have a lift/elevator though!
