In 2000, a man named Lester Brown retired after 25 years at Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado, came home to Montana, and built this cabin with his own hands. That is the origin story of this property, and it shows in every detail, the craftsmanship of the staircase, the layout, and the character that purpose-built vacation properties almost never have.

A handbuilt Montana log cabin with mountain views and the quiet that only comes from being genuinely away from anything. The main living space is warm and well-equipped for a group of six.

Fully stocked kitchen. Bear spray, coffee, and water waiting when you arrive — a detail past guests have specifically appreciated heading out for early Glacier mornings.

Really enjoyed the fire pit outside. We cooked meals a couple of times and found the kitchen to be sufficiently supplied. All around cozy place.

This is a beautiful cabin with excellent access to Glacier National Park. The cabin is well supplied. The only quirky aspect is that the upstairs primary bathroom does not have a door. If there are guests in the upstairs loft sharing the bath, it could be awkward.

This cabin is so pretty! Lovely vibe in a peaceful area. Kitchen is well stocked with lots of dishes and extras. Bathrooms are updated and beautiful. We liked having the gas grill and patio area too. It was truly 15 minutes to the Glacier entrance, and about 20 minutes to Whitefish. Great location! We ended up having one issue, but the hosts were very kind and responsive and helped us make it right.

Wonderful cabin, beautiful property and location very near to Glacier. Modern restoration of family cabin was so comfortable, roomy, and elegant. Set nicely in the town but on a forested lot. Very private. Top drawer.

This cabin is absolutely beautiful! The aesthetic is wonderfully cozy, and it has excellent amenities. The host was also very responsive.Unfortunately, the layout did not work well for our family due to a lack of privacy. The upstairs master bedroom walls don't go to the ceiling and with the third loft bedroom, sound and light travel freely to those areas. Basically, with the only TV being in the living area we all had to go to bed at the same time. Additionally, the master bathroom does not have a door. If you are traveling with family or kids and need privacy between rooms, the layout might be a challenge. There also seems to be an unresolved septic issue due to the smell and previous comments on another site for this property. When the host was contacted about this, they seemed aware of the issue and mentioned an additive that has been used in the past to resolve. It wasn't resolved during my stay, but we only stayed two nights.Overall, this is a really nice cabin in a quiet neighborhood.

Thank you for staying at Brown Bear's Cabin. Yes, the layout is unique and not set up with a traditional layout. We have found the source of the smell, and have taken the steps to resolve the issue. There was a leak in a pipe, and that has been repaired.

This is an amazing place to stay with friends and family, the cabin has been thoughtfully equipped with all the basic you may need..with families in mind, close to everything. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to loved ones.

We loved staying here; it was an enjoyable place to come home to each day after sight-seeing. We relaxed around the outdoor campfires and appreciated how well stocked the firewood was for such purposes. The house was exceptionally clean, and well-stocked with everything we needed.
