We provide a starter bundle of firewood for your stay—perfect for a cozy evening or two around the fire pit.
If you’d like more, feel free to help yourself from the main stack out back. Each additional bundle is $10, using the honor system. Just send us a quick message and we’ll add it to your stay.
A full kitchen with new appliances makes group meals easy, and there are TVs in both the master loft and living area for your entertainment. The TVs are streaming only, so guests can log in with their own accounts. The cabin is also equipped with Starlink WiFi—the fastest and most reliable internet available in the area—making it ideal for remote work, streaming, or simply staying connected. It’s a major upgrade over the limited or spotty internet access found in most other cabins nearby.
Step outside and explore multiple seating areas, from covered and uncovered decks to a woodland retreat space with rustic seating—ideal for morning coffee or quiet reflection. There is even an open air Gazebo with a dining table and chairs that will add to the natural beauty and tranquility to any of meal.
The cabin includes Two full bathrooms: one in the loft and one on the main floor, offering convenience for everyone in your group.
Sleepy Bear Lodge is located just a short drive or hike from Queens Lake, a peaceful destination for fishing, paddling, or lakeside picnics. You’ll be within 25 minutes of Lake Nantahala and Boat rentals at Lakes End Marina, 30 minutes from white water rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, and minutes from multiple entrances to the Appalachian and the Bartram Trails, making it a perfect basecamp for hiking, exploring, and experiencing the best of Western North Carolina.
Additional Information:
- There is no landline at the cabin, and depending on your cell carrier, service can be a bit limited in the area. We recommend turning on Wi-Fi calling before you arrive so you can stay connected during your stay. Don’t worry—the cabin has fast and reliable Starlink WiFi to keep everything running smoothly.
- The road to the cabin is gravel with a slight incline. While 4WD isn’t required, it’s recommended—especially during rainy weather. Most vehicles do just fine, though front-wheel drive cars may need to take it slow or back up the final stretch of the driveway. Just go easy, and you’ll be fine!
