Dear Mai-Britt, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing Cortijo Los Almendrales for your family holiday! I am thrilled to hear that you found the villa spacious, well-equipped, and that you enjoyed the spectacular outdoor areas. You are completely right, the breathtaking views from the top of the mountain are truly priceless and worth every bit of the drive up! As you mentioned, being at the very peak means the access road is steep, though it is fully paved/concrete all the way up, which makes it perfectly safe and accessible for standard cars. We always appreciate when guests note this so future travelers come prepared for a typical mountain drive. It was an absolute pleasure hosting the six of you, and I’m glad I could assist you quickly whenever needed. We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you and your family back in the future! Warm regards, Carlos

Carlos is a wonderful host. He ensured through excellent communication that every step from the day of our booking through to departure day we were informed, supported and had the most wonderful week staying at the villa. He gave so much help and guidance, waiting to meet us when we were delayed by traffic, giving us a full tour of the villa and run through of all the amenities and he came straight out to us when we had something that required his assistance in the evening. The villa is truly amazing, we were 6 adults staying there but the various spaces and different areas, particularly those around the villa ment that we always felt we had more than enough room for us all. Everything was exceptionally clean and the villa very homely and comfortable. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were wonderful and clean, and the views were outstanding. A truly gorgeous villa in a stunning setting and an amazing holiday. We would totally recommend for a great holiday.

The accommodations were beautiful. The views spectacular. Everything was immaculately clean. The host was incredibly accommodating and provided anything extra that we might need. They made great suggestions for food and attractions in the area. The rural drive up and down the mountain was initially challenging but well worth it and became easier each time. We enjoyed our 2 week stay more than we can express. Thank you Carlos

Everything about this property was perfection! Carlos met us at the bottom of the mountain and personally escorted us to the house. The views on the way up were so beautiful, but arriving at the villa was absolutely breathtaking. Like nothing I’ve ever seen. The outdoor space was so nice and we spent most of our time there. We ate every meal Al fresco as the weather was perfect everyday. The cleanliness and attention to detail was the best I’ve seen in a rental. Carlos made sure we had his personal number in case we needed anything. He was the most attentive host. We will be back. Don’t think, reserve it! You will not be disappointed.

Early Summer Break

We had a truly wonderful stay at this charming accommodation nestled in the mountains around Torrox, Spain. The location was absolutely stunning — peaceful, secluded, and surrounded by breathtaking views of the Andalusian landscape. It was the perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature while still being within a short drive of the coast and local attractions. The accommodation itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Carlos was an incredibly welcoming host, offering helpful tips about the area and ensuring we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. We especially enjoyed the outdoor spaces — perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or watching the sunset in the evening. We’ve already booked again for next year and we can’t wait!

Stunning way to take in the Mediterranean

The views, presence of Carlos and property made this place a perfect spot for us to enjoy Southern Spain. We had a hard time leaving the stunning views but traveled to Cordoba, Frigiliana, Sevilla, Granada, Nerja, Malaga, Ronda and of course Torrox. I would come back in a hear beat! The only thing you need to know is you want to drive up to the house only once each day, so make sure to get groceries before you head up the first time and plan your day accordingly.

Beautiful villa up in the mountains

The house is located about 12 km above Torrox in the mountains. It has a wonderful view of the coast and the surrounding mountains. The house is in very good condition, clean, large and well furnished. The pool was unfortunately still too cold for swimming at the beginning of March, but in summer it is certainly a pleasure. The host Carlos is very helpful and extremely friendly. He is always ready to help and available if you need him.

I left behind a career as a computer programmer to embark on this adventure, and I assure you that it has been the best decision of my life.

Through this path, I discovered something I had never imagined: a deep love for nature, for my land of Malaga, and for people like you, who are looking for something more than just a vacation. Here you will not only find accommodation; You will find a refuge designed to give you peace, comfort and an experience so unique that you will want to return again and again.

After so many years of hosting guests, I can say that many of them have arrived as visitors and left as friends. Here at Ruralovers, we are committed to offering you a service that goes beyond the ordinary. We care about your happiness and comfort, and that is why we are here for whatever you need, at any time.

So, if you are looking for a place that really allows you to disconnect from the world, surrounded by nature and just a few minutes from the beaches and charming white villages of the Axarquía, you have come to the right place. This will be more than just a stay, it will be an experience that you will always remember.

Thank you for considering us. I am sure that, by choosing us, you will have made the best decision for your vacation.

This is not just a place to sleep. It is a space where the tranquility of the mountain, the freshness of the Mediterranean breeze, and the warmth of the Andalusian sun come together to offer you something incomparable. Every corner is designed to make you feel at home from the first moment, from the impressive views to the small details that I take great care of.
