Just 30 minutes away, is the highly-rated Samara Beach known for its calm waters, wide sandy beach, and family-friendly atmosphere. It's a popular spot for swimming, beginner surfing, and enjoying the sunset. The beach is also known for its cleanliness and is a Blue Flag beach. Be sure to check out El Lagarto for dinner with your feet in the sand. If you want a place to eat a little closer to the cottage, you can swing by Restaurante La Roca on your way home for an incredible meal, specialty cocktails and a view. Behind the restaurant is a hiking trail leading to a waterfall called La Roca.
If you go 30 minutes the other way, you'll find yourself in the captivating city of Nicoya. Here you can visit the Parroquia San Blas, one of Costa Rica's oldest churches. In front of the church is the lovely and well tended central park of Nicoya. With its huge old trees and children’s playground it is a favorite place for meeting and relaxing while surrounded by shops and restaurants. If you are interested in taking a hike, Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) is located on Cerro La Cruz. It's a popular landmark and a symbol of faith, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area.
