Mid-Century Modern Charm in Downtown WS. Walk to food & bev

Welcome to Nest in West, a thoughtfully restored 2-bedroom, 2-bath mid-century modern gem tucked into the trees of historic West Salem. Blending original 1960s charm with modern comforts, this peaceful perch invites you to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature—while staying just minutes from the vibrant arts, dining, and innovation scene of downtown Winston-Salem.

Inside, you’ll find an open-concept living space with warm wood accents and large picture windows that bring the outside in. The kitchen is fully equipped for everything from morning coffee on the patio to a cozy dinner at home. Each bedroom offers a comfortable bed with plenty of pillows and linens and both bathrooms have been beautifully updated for spa-like ease.

Our home is completely scent-free — something many of our guests with allergies or sensitivities really appreciate. We wash everything in dye-free, fragrance-free detergent, skip air fresheners and scented plugins entirely, and keep our cleaning products fragrance-free too. For extra peace of mind, every pillow and mattress is fitted with an allergen protector under the regular bedding.

Step outside and you’re surrounded by nature—deer, owls, and even wild turkeys are known to stop by. Enjoy your morning coffee under the pines or a sunset drink on the back patio. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway, a work trip, or a longer stay, Nest in West is a place to slow down and settle in.

Come nest with us—your restful retreat in the City of Arts and Innovation awaits.

Hi, I’m Casie! My husband, Matt, and I are longtime Winston-Salem locals who love travel, design, and restoring meaningful spaces. We renovated Nest in West with care to preserve its mid-century charm while modernizing it for comfort and style.

We believe homes should feel both inspiring and grounding — a place where you can exhale and feel at ease. When we’re not hosting, you’ll probably find us exploring new places, working on classic cars, or spending time with our two poodles.

We live nearby and are happy to offer local recommendations or give you all the privacy you need. We hope Nest in West feels like your own peaceful little corner of Winston-Salem.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

West Salem is one of Winston-Salem’s oldest and most character-filled neighborhoods — a perfect blend of history, creativity, and community. It’s walkable, peaceful, and full of charm, with tree-lined streets, unique architecture, and friendly neighbors who actually wave when you walk by.

It’s just minutes from downtown, so you get the best of both worlds: the quiet of a residential area and easy access to Winston’s arts, food, and innovation scene. Think cozy coffee shops, local breweries, live music, and galleries.

The neighborhood also has a growing creative energy, with restored historic homes, community gardens, and a strong local pride. Nature lovers will appreciate the mature trees, wildlife, and the sense of calm that’s rare this close to the city.

West Salem feels like a small-town pocket inside a vibrant city — welcoming, walkable, and full of heart.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Nest in West isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a home with a story. Originally built in 1967, this mid-century modern gem was lovingly restored in 2025 to honor its original character while updating every detail for modern comfort.

What truly sets it apart is the feel of the space — clean lines, warm light, and thoughtful touches that make it both stylish and grounding. Every corner was designed with intention.

Outside, you’re surrounded by nature — deer in the yard, owls at dusk, and a sense of peace that’s hard to find this close to downtown. It’s quiet, but not isolated. Modern, but not sterile.

Nest in West reflects the spirit of Winston-Salem itself: creative, rooted, and full of character. It’s the kind of place that feels like home — even if you’re just passing through.
