Great time @ Truman Annex

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a great time. This was my hubby’s first time at Truman Annex and it did not disappoint. Loved the location and the proximity to everything in Key West. We were able to walk everywhere including the beach, sunset pier and the southernmost point. Looking forward to coming back😊

Fixer upper

Dryer knob & refrigerator handle broken. Back patio door would not open . Needs new lock, air conditioner went out. Needs some repairs stain on ceiling, looks like a leak in upper unit. It rained whole vacation. Enjoyed the island, friendly people. Expensive area, but beautiful!

Reviewer Comments: Good things- Great location- Clean and well-maintained- The property management people were great - brought over a new toaster right away - sent the repair folks right away when the AC stopped workingNot so good things- Loud. It sounded like a stampede when the people upstairs moved around, and unfortunately they were early risers. ALso we could hear every word of the conversations taking place on the back decks around us- No grill, no porch furniture in front- Many of the electrical outlets did not work

Thanks for the review Eric! I am glad we were able to quickly fix any bumps in the road upon your arrival. We have had the electricians go in and fix all outlets upon your departure. As for grills the fire marshal comes and takes certain ones away due to their rules and regulations. Next time you come visit with us I would recommend giving one of the town homes a try. They are bigger, less noise from neighbors, and a lot have grills!

Nice unit to rent

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Compass Reality very easy to work with. The property was as described. Check in was easy. Parking convenient to the unit. Unit was clean and had everything you needed for a weeks stay. The pool is located just a short walk from the unit. Duval is a two block walk. Most restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The beach is a short drive or bicycle ride. The Shipyard at the Truman Annex is located in the quite part of town. You can walk to the sunset celebration at Mallory Square or see the sunset from children’s water park a short distance away. The only complaint regarding our stay was the heavy footed tenants residing upstairs. The were constantly walking loudly or what sounded like moving furniture. I understand that you never know who your neighbors are going to be. Compass Reality was easy to work with everything went smoothly and I will be dealing with them for our next rental.

THE HOME WAS STOCKED WITH ENOUGH TOILET PAPER, PAPER TOWELS, & DETERGENT FOR A WEEK. WE HAD A PROBLEM THAT WAS TAKEN CARE OF IN A TIMELY MANNER.

Could have used a bath mat as the tub floor was slippery. Comfortable furniture and the kitchen was well stocked with items to use. Liked the deck and comfortable outdoor furniture. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and the pool was great. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do. Great safe location

Will look elsewhere next time

Unit was booked 1.5 weeks before the trip (kind of last minute). Check in location was difficult to find even though I am very familiar with Key West. The said to look for a fountain but the fountain was turned off and not visable...had to get out and walk to locate the building. Condition of the unit was fair at best. Old, outdated and worn out. Several lights were out and the garbage disposal didn't work. On arrival, the A/C was not working but they quickly fixed (thank you!) The shower was cold even at the highest setting. Called the manager back after the A/C and by then we found hot water in the kitchen. Told them we would try and figure it out and take cold showers as needed. Came to find out that the shower fixture was hooked up backwards (only took 4 days of cold showers before realizing). No call back to check on the issue by the management. I have found cheaper places for less money. This one is very small in compairison to other units in the Truman Annex.

Comfortable Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay in unit 139 was very comfortable. It was clean and provided for our basic needs. The galley kitchen was very small, but we did not cook meals, so it also met our needs. The refrigerator was sometimes very difficult to open because it would create a vacuum and would require both me and my husband to open. The noise from the unit next door and above us during the day was very noticeable. We heard very heavy footsteps overhead and could often hear conversations through the adjoining wall from our next door neighbor. The beds were very comfortable and clean. Many of the electrical outlets would not hold a plug because of their use over the years. The TV in the main bedroom needs to be replaced and did not work very well. Most faucets were difficult to turn on. We only had a single wash cloth, but towels were abundant. Still, the location to Duval Street and our favorite restaurants made it the perfect place to stay. The gated community made us feel very secure.

Very thoughtful of the owner to have beach chairs for the guests to use at the ocean. Short walk to the parking lot. Not a complaint but I think it needs a new toaster and a Mr Coffee.

Nice area!

Cozy little unit in a beautiful quiet area close to Fort Zachary State Park and Duval St. The unit itself was nice and the furniture and appliances were new. The beds were pretty comfortable. The bathroom was very small but lots of storage. Blinds on the back patio doors would be nice to let light in without exposing so much privacy and glasses or cups to drink out of would be nice other than mugs. Other than that the place was well equipped with everything you need to stay comfortably. The only think I didn’t like about the unit was that you could hear people above you walking (or kids running) whenever they were in their unit which woke me up a few times but if you’re a deep sleeper that may not affect you. Overall a nice stay!

Close to everything

Property was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for the 4 of us . Loved the property grounds and pool and close proximity to the beach and downtown, both within an east walk! Would highly recommend this condo!

Great location and beautiful landscape

Property was in a great location! Walls and ceiling were a little thin, we were on first floor and could hear the neighbors upstairs at 6 am and next door when ever they talked or watched TV.

Convenient, Quiet, Clean

This property is the perfect location to walk to Duval street or the beach. The open air market on Thursday was a wonderful surprise and the roosters were a friendly visitors all over town.
